Hey Darren, I read and reply to all genuine posts here….Watford went very well for us…really good acoustics in lovely hall….the audience came and created a wonderful atmosphere..the staff were welcoming and rightly proud of their venue…just about a perfect night for me….
I had hoped to duet with Elton but he missed the bus…..we once played on the same bill at Krumlin Folk Blues and Beyond Festival near Halifax,Yorkshire way back in 1970…that was a weekend that some people will never forget
Ah Christy your mention of the perfumery has me reminiscing. Beautiful place and smells. I was in there for hours. I’ve a hankering for Clare. There’s a breeze towards it. And then going further north for the Connemara seaweed and even farther for the Donegal Democrats. Thanks for the RFH gigs. We spent the two nights in good company. And yourselves. It was good to see the 4711ers and to hear The Time Has Come. Yer man there had some big knackers to walk to the front and ask for it. Good for him . Don’t ask don’t get. Anyway I’m off to drink the chamomile. The insomnia is fierce. Take care. Xx

I hope the soothing vapours of Chamomille brought you sleep. We’ve had a good rest here after our English concerts. Now we are preparing for action once more.
Dear Christy,
Glad you had a good rest and you are in anticipation of your Sligo gig.
Lovely memories are coming up by your mention of the Blue Lagoon and Hawk’s Well, our very first Christy concert more than 30 years ago …
Unfortunately this time we won’t see you in Sligo. But we are already looking forward to your gigs in Donegal and Mayo later in October!
Not very long now and we’ll set sail to Erin’s green shores, if all goes well we’ll reach Beara next weekend.
Have a great time between Benbulben and Knocknarea!
Best wishes, Traudel

Hi All. It seems that Paul Kelly is an Australian music legend (sorry to say I was n’t familiar with his work til now !! ) In a recent interview as he kicks off a US tour ,,, when asked ” : What was the best concert that you ever attended as a spectator? he said : “I saw Christy Moore once in Melbourne about 30 years ago. It was a Friday night, and the hall was packed. He walked on stage by himself in a slightly rumpled suit. There were a lot of Irish expats in the crowd, and they’d had a few drinks in the pubs beforehand. They were rowdy, demanding, calling out for songs. He was uncomfortable and tetchy. He said, ‘Leave me alone for a bit. I have to find my way into this.’ And find his way he did. He wrangled that crowd like a bronco rider on a bull. When they got loud, he went soft and quietened them. He did all kinds of songs — love songs, folk songs, whimsical songs, historical songs, political songs, angry songs, funny songs. He sang with his guitar, sang a capella, sang as he beat the bodhran. Gradually, he relaxed and warmed into the show, and the crowd and he became one. He left that mob roaring.” Kelly says the Moore concert also influenced him most as a musician. “You can push and pull your audience,” he says. “You’re not their servant, and they are not yours.” I guess it was n’t today or yesterday you developed your Mojo Christy ??
Had the grub in Monks Lane.Met Gavin mentioned the song.On the way.John Spillane doing his usual gig on the 1st thursday of the month in De Barras. We all would love to see you and the band do a gig in Clon.

Lord what an evening and it made me think sarsfields were going for the 3 in a row like the dubs then I realised that this sarsfields team ain’t any Dublin team..
Big match in the Morning and I know three quarters of the country are routing for mayo but I was thinking this Dublin team is the best football team the gaa have ever come acrossed. I won’t be surprised if they do the 5 in a row..
And as a kildare man I have great respect for what the dubs are showing of the past few years.. at the moment the only team to gave Dublin a game was kildare!!!
I met a fellow from Galway two weeks ago in “cons” and asked did I know the Galway shawl?? I didn’t know it but he was happy enough with the fields of athenry after the song he asked “do ya know any Christy Moore songs” I said what’s your favourite and he said paddy was a gentleman
