hey Denys, we’ll do our best to get it right…dedications can be tricky betimes, they sometimes make me feel that I might be excluding everyone else in the room….if this sounds like paranoia it may very well be, but just because I might be paranoid does not necessarily mean that there might be no one following me in anyways but

Hi Christy
Belated thanks for the superb gig in Buxton.I’m just back online ,having gone for a day’s wander in the hills. The walk was soundtracked by wonderful memories of the gig on Friday night.
The sound in the hall and choice of songs was superb. As ever, your bond with the audience produced some high points. Its a long time since I heard ‘Dalesman’s Litany’ and ‘John O’ Dreams’.The Ewan MacColl tributes were superb too.
As ever, thanks to you and companeros for the special sounds and good vibes.
Cheers,Dave

Hello Christy
Luka was in town and I had a nice chat with him after the gig. What a lovely person and very charming. He told me that you maybe will come to Belgium next year but I said that I like you more in Eire.
Dublin was on the news here, unfortunately with bad news. It was about the many homeless people. I saw Dublin changing over the years and there are indeed a lot of young people on the streets if I compare it with 10 years ago.
Hope you have a nice trip and see you…
Chris
Christy's reply

Maidin mhaith a Christy. Bain sult as an turas! I am sure you will enjoy every moment of your tour …lucky Liverpool, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow! No doubt you have brought a bag full of bacon, sausage, soda, potato bread (fadge) and black pudding to distribute among your fans! My son and girlfriend met Declan in the Black Box and got a great photo with him. They loved the concert. Previous talk about Foxy Devil reminded me of another fox: Cathal Hayden’s performance (Dungannon) of The Mountains of Pomeroy…’Beware they say of Renardine on the mountains of Pomeroy, was hauntingly beautiful.
Hope to see you in Vicar Street. Ádh mór Mary.
Christy's reply

after a week of celebrations!!!! next stop BARROWLANDS. the shin guards are packed, the get me out a jail card is in the arse pocket and we are about to head north to Glasgow.!!
I was thinking during the week about when I jumped on the band wagon and it brought me from my first gig in a little club house up in the curragh, called Moorefield! in 1992-3. what a night, the whole family sang luka, andy anne eilish and terry (thanks to my neighbour terry for the tickets). the first song was nancy spain and I was in trance that I never came out off… I was 12.
since then I have been at goffs, the point, the river bank, the south bank (London) the national stadium, the rds (which should of been in lisdoonvarna and also I discovered Damien Dempsey at the same gig) vicar street, red house, kilashee hotel, rytson the patrician secondary school newbridge, iveagh gardens, oxyegen, electric picnic. probably other places that aren’t ring the bell at the moment but long may it continue.
I was listen to the album smoke and strong whiskey again during the week, (actually the very first Christy moore album I ever listened too and its my second favourite album. king puck no1) and there is some great songs on that album that need to be spun out again, scapegoats is my favourite song I would love to hear it in barrowlands( for the two newbridge lads) whacker Humphries, or as an earlier post asked for Ashling. Im pressing the juke box buttons here before others do!!!
anyways Christy, thank you for the music its good to see the uk tour is doing so well. it goes to show that you are loved all over the world more than ever..
I personal haven’t shook your hand in about 20 years and id love to have the chance or a selfie (as the kids are doing now a days) to say thank you for helping me to be the person who I am today as I wouldn’t change a thing about it as your songs and music got me through a lot in life.
maybe we’ll have tea at the after party or the before party or at the cross roads.
see you in Glasgow son!
moore than magic!
Christy's reply
well Sash, good to hear from you…yea we’ll have the cuppa some day, maybe in Neesons, they brew a fine pot in there and we can have a yarn….thats an impressive list of venues there..you’re not missing many local halls….Neesons,The Curragh Inn(formerly Barney Gallivan’s, anyone remember that? all the lovely daughters?) McTiernans,The Town Hall ( when The Rakes of Kildare did a turn at the Fianna Fáil annual Dance..we were booked by that Legend John Joe Murray, our fee was 2 doz stout)
“Across the River Liffey Bridge and then on up the town
by Coffeys Clock twas plain to see how time was moving on” ( more later)
You can’t imagine how thrilled I was when you sang The Voyage for me tonight at Buxton Opera House . It’s always been one of my faves, and the words are so meaningful for so many people.
Loved seeing the three of you, Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield and Slieve Donard , but really liked the intimacy of the OH. Thought the sound quality was great.
Looking forward to next album. Best wishes for rest of tour.
