Hi Christy,
Great show tonight, wouldn’t have expected anything else. The amount of young people attending just shows what an impact you still have. It’s a pity about the remaining shows having to be rescheduled, doesn’t make sense. Hoping to see you in Gearhies sometime when I’m down visiting. Happy Xmas.

Looking out at recent gigs I see lots of new comers to the songs….there is an air of exhuberance, the singing is fresh, youthful and energetic..I think I have gained many new listeners..it is remarkable, uplifting and exciting…I celebrate it with gratitude and renewed energy !!
Greetings to all,
I’m so sad about the cancellation of the 8th December. I booked a flight from Hamburg and planned to stay 2 nights Dublin. I hope it will be magic without the music.
Stay save and healthy hope to see you in spring or summer

Thank you Astrids…sorry to read of your disappointment….I hope we can meet again….
Hi all, I’m wondering how people can gain access to the presale for Vicar Street? Christmas is not the same without a festive night at Christy.
Many thanks
Dylan
Hello Christy.
The last time Rick and I traveled to IE was January 2020 – your concert was a 40th anniversary gift to ourselves. We decided to attend your concert again this year – both the 9th and the 11th (as long as we were flying in!) – taking the chance that we can fly safely. I see the 9th is reduced capacity (and we have to purchase tickets again) but the 11th will remain the same. Is there a chance the 11th will become reduced capacity also? Kathleen

Hi Kathleen…we’re all flying into mystery at the moment….we got to wait and see… hopefully hopefully….best for now…Christy

Hello Christy and All,
I was sorry to see this tweet from Vicar Street a little while ago

Tonight’s @christymoore45 show (6th December) will go ahead as planned. Reduced capacity (50%) shows for 14th & 16th Dec & 3rd & 9th Jan will go on sale TOMORROW 7th December at 9am. Please note original tickets will NOT be valid for these new shows. More Show updates to follow! https://twitter.com/Vicar_Street/status/1467801430836846600?s=20
No worries, I’m up for another fight with ticketmaster. I’m going to get to that gig if it’s at all possible to do it.
I’ve noticed that there is a presale from 8am.
Good luck to anyone here who will be joining me in the melee.
Hope you’re doing ok Christy and you enjoy every minute of it tonight.
Big shoutout to Sean McKay from Glenravel’s Glen, who’s birthday is this week and won the U20 county final this weekend. Will be at the concert tonight! Hon the Con Magee’s.
Apologies for a rather rushed note yesterday. I’ve been trying to decide what I’m looking forward to most about tonight’s concert, and really it’s just that it will be so good to see you play live, and in person, for the first time in two and a half years. And, following swiftly after that, hearing you sing the songs from the the excellent new album.
Hello Christy,
That rule thing gets worse the more you think about it. I guess being Hebden Bridge’s younger sibling has made them a bit wild in Mytholmroyd, that and all the flooding. They’re in the bottom of the xalley, right between the canal and the river.
Here’s Rocky road to Dublin from the Barrowland sound check on the life on the road documentary. Captured it right after the rugby yesterday afternoon https://youtu.be/bDloDFvJJhI
Love it.
You make an interesting point about great Sunday night folk clubs. As audient and player, I often found the same. Maybe, it was because it’s the end of weekend and then back to the ‘daily grind’ for the working week…so, chance for people to enjoy a good night’s music before it’s back to ‘wage slave’ duties…
Just caught up on an excellent doc that was shown on BBC2 last night – Phil Lynott ‘ Songs for while I’m away’…brilliantly put together and very moving.
Great track list for the Hawickmeister’s box set… I’d like to request ‘ Deportee (Plane wreck at Los Gatos)’, please – the video to accompany it (I’m sure there’ll be a big budget) can feature the memorial in California as the song plays out…also (at much lower cost) ‘ Dalesman’s Litany’.
Hi Christy,
Your ‘The Blackbird and the Tractor’ box set is taking shape in my mind at least.
It houses some mighty tracks , most off the beaten track ones, with the likes of Hurt live at Kilmainham Gaol, The Boys of Barr na Sraide sung from a bush on a hillside accompanied by a nest of young wrens, Shoot out the Street Lights as a duet with tour guide Steven from the battle site at Bannockburn, a live 4 song set recorded by Pat on a cruise down the Rhine starting with Yellow Triangle, A pair of brown eyes and including December 1942, a spoken word version of North and South , Bogies Bonny Belle strummed and sung at an outpost of Fife with the Stewart family harmonising, the Tuam Beat from a Galway sugar festival tent , an out take or two from Whats the story Git off the Traveller album and a recently uncovered full length duet of yourself and John Reilly with every verse of The well below the Valley from the back room at Grehan’s.
That Christy is just the first disc in a 6 disc boxset entitled ‘1999-2039 the bald years’.
When it is to be released, with an opening night at Hawick rugby club, well who knows but the kettle is boiling as we wait.
Arra best

Just arrived in Dublin ready for tomorrow night’s gig. I’m looking forward to it so much, and feeling very lucky that 6th Dec was one of the two dates I chose. Just settling in for my two night stay at O’Donoghue’s. I think tomorrow daytime I’ll take the train and go for a walk on the beach, there was a beautiful light this afternoon, it still seems autumnal here. The trees are more bare in London.
Can you send me the email again please? I can’t get presale 🙁
good luck all!
it’s been a while since I’ve seen this time on a morning vertically
