Great reviews for Lily on Sean Rocks Arena programme on RTE radio. The reviewers loved it, and your choice of songs. Great personal praise for you too. They reviewed Dylan too- but you scored higher. Serves him right for not recording Lisdoon!!! Been listening to the album all day and it’s top class.
Christy's reply
great to hear that people are enjoying LILY…I never know what to expect…..the album was made by a collective of musicians, technicians and friends..it would not exist but for the fruits of all the song-writers who share their songs so generously…
Put the order in for lily , hope you enjoy the late late , roll it there lily baby, ye had me laughing at the harley 6:30 am, I got one last year, fingers flying, beds moving, even the birds are sick of the racket, I just see you racing up the road , slippers thrown at the helmet, spilling tea on the newspaper, and yer man on the bike humming the Honda 50…anyway enough about sham, looking forward to the lily bud,a lot of work and fun, I’ve been singin the tuam beat for a few days now without realizing that I am, it has a lovely air , take care, enjoy the summer with the clan, all the very best , fin, if ye get a chance, would it be possible for you to sign the lily, if not, no problem I know you have a lot going on, I’m off to do a gig in the city tomorrow night, looking forward to it and nervous all in one
Christy's reply
keep that nervousness..hold on to it..use it……I cherish it..it helps me focus and concentrate..to be thinking of nothing else prior to commencing each performance..
I remember years ago seeing a very famous Balladeer at a big outdoor event over there in America..there were thousands of listeners excitedly waiting to hear him…he was hanging around backstage with a bunch of his boozing buddys, lots of loud, gargled cameraderie but no preparation for the gig…. as he was being announced he opened his guitar case and walked out without even tuning…he got a huge welcome….it was all downhill after that…he was well jarred, out of tune, ill prepared and not even slightly nervous ….poor man,it was awful………
be nervous Fin, be ready, be prepared…
Best wishes to all the family
The tissue was needed for Green Grows the Laurel btw.
Very touched by the circularity that takes the listener from the sung lines of Dunlavin Green that carries the Lost Tribe to the haunting old songs mentioned in Mandolin Mountain … the loop feature makes it all so easy, as does such quietly careful crafting too xx
Well Lily has arrived safely in Derry, and most welcome she is. Beautiful sounds and already been played a few times. Loving the gentle remembrance of Patrick Murphy and Green Grows the Laurel carrying me back to that special night that the Grehan sisters and yourself brought the ghost of Jacko Reilly alive again. Hope the Grehans are well. Thank you Christy for the wonderful songs you bring us. Thank you for Lily.

Lily left Antrim slowly on Wednesday. Then Royal Mail screwed up: she plopped yesterday.
Honestly, guv, I’d have waited until … but, well, my car is partial to a tune and on a Thursday evening, jaunts west for half an hour etc. Not wanting to risk upsetting the little car, what could I do?
Been a long time since I posted here Christy but listen to you a lot over on you tube as well as here in my own living room. The ’81 Collection CD being a personal favorite. LILY is on her way now as we speak – can’t wait!

Dear Christy I am very happy because I have ordered the Lily from the shop. Maybe you might see yourself to make your mark on it. If not no worries as it is enough to wait with excited anticipation of Lily from the West. And if you’ve a moment on the 30th of May think of the Mighty (but quite small) Dons aiming for League 1 glory. They’ve no money and very poor fans. Wembley seems a bit scary.
I hope you and yours are having a magnificent time with temperate conditions. Xx
Christy's reply
I’m barred from entering the shop…last time in there I caused mayhem so thses days I stay in the music shed and mind my own business..I’ll sign it for you next time we meet….my attention has now turned away from Soccer as we enter the business end of our Gaelic Football and our Hurling Season…soccer is alright for the winter months but come May its soon forgotten….we are all well here Thanks Be…Declan is on a solo tour… The Trad outfit are making a film, Michael got sunburnt…we are here in RTE waiting for the red light
I love this day when I can walk in to a ‘record shop’ and buy a new CD, and head back with it and play it for the day…over and over, pickin out bits to play back…anyway, it’s a great buzz for us listeners, so I hope for you, its something even better…I know it’ll be a flyer, and we look forward to giving it a whirl on Tuesday night on Sin é.
Loving the live versions over the last handful of gigs I’ve attended…just so good…and for me now, picking up me guitar and trying to learn a few from the cd is great, Mandolin Mountain being my current fav to sing & play..
I wish you all the very best with it and to all involved, congratulations….grand dryin out for bandanas ( and Bananas)

Well Christy. Best of luck on the LLS tonight. The latest collection of songs are great. Deciding which ones to give the spin on TV must be the hard part. Good protesty vibe to the new album but the Tuam beat will surely knock someone off the top spot. Lunny and Andy are playing the riverbank next week if your looking for a good gig on a rare sat night off.
Singin the same aul songs……

This is the day.
A new Lily is born.
Fine and healthy!
We are chick-full of emotion.
Reminds me of my other favourite Lilywhite. My mother, Rest her Soul was Born, Bred and Brought Up in Leinster Mills by the canal between Naas and the Sallins. The happiest woman I’ve ever known. Lived to 97 years old – (must’ve been something good in the canal water???)
My fondest lifetime memory was bringing her to HQ on 27 September 1998. Lower tier, Hogan stand, end of the row, flask and sandwiches….
Now for a Perfect Day with Lily.
Thank you sincerely, from all of us.

Here’s to Lily! As a saffron (one foot in Tyrone) we take our name from the whin… and maybe someday we will win and lift the Sam Maguire…observe the sons of Ulster marching towards the Sam. Hi Christy
Half a century since THE Dylan gig at The Free Trade Hall…there was a great shindig on the anniversary.A charity gig with a variety of performers interpreting Bob’s ’66 setlist. An uplifting night, brilliantly MCd by Andy Kershaw – almost as big a Rochdale cowboy as Mike Harding.Andy and John Peel were heroes of the airwaves.Ever play sessions for AK ?
On 20/5/16 Messrs Dylan and Moore share another milestone by both having album releases on the same day…Enjoy the media buzz and satisfaction of your job well done.I’m really looking forward to Lily’s arrival.

Congrats on the new album Christy, can’t wait to hear it. Classy artwork too. Don’t need to say muchi when ye can say it all… RTE are doing a short piece on me, wish I had the pride to say no ; ) hah. Hello dear Christy,
Very best of Luck for the Launch of LILY and the LLS tomorrow!!! Looking forward to meeting “Lily” soon …
We got back from our wonderful Emerald Isle trip already one week ago but family affairs prevented me writing earlier. So eventually I’d like to say a huge DANKESCHOEN for the three Magic Nights you gave us during our stay on the Island! We enjoyed your New Songs very much, most of them we heard for the first time live. As you know The Gardener is my absolutely favourite – Many Thanks again for singing it in each of the 3 gigs – I also love Wallflower, Lightning Bird Wind River Man, Mandolin Mountain, Oblivious, Lilys of the Shortgrass … And I do hope the Old Songs keeping on calling you … especially to get to hear The Man from RTE, Well and Spancilhill was a treat! A special Thank You to your fellow musicians for their excellent playing and Andy’s lovely harmonies – great to see your son beside you at your “Birthday Gig” – and also to the crew who created such beautiful sound and lights! As well it was a pleasure to meet so many of the 4711ers friends, some of them we haven’t seen for years. So we brought marvellous memories with us and the songs and music are still resounding.
Best wishes, Traudel

Greetings from the Hills Christy, Hope all is well with you. Good luck with Friday, “Lilly” and The Late Late …no doubt all will be fantastic. Lots of great gigs coming up as well to look forward to over the coming months. I’m hoping to catch up with Declan & Vikki on Saturday night in charming Culdaff, will be bringing a few friends along to that one. Off then to HQ next weekend to see “The Boss” in action, first saw him back at Slane Castle 1985 I think was, still a great performer. All of that plus a few CM Gigs thrown in just for good measure. I was checking out the new Termon Complex in Beleek the other day, its a venue I think you will enjoy when you get there in August. Have to say I’m feeling a bit flat today Christy after last nights disappointment in the football, I know its only a game but Liverpool will always be a big part of my life ….fair to say we are headed in the right direction though and #InKloppWeTrust
Best regards for now…… Love & Respect Martin Mac ..

for some of us Martin, our chosen sport is never “only a game”….as a lad and as a young man I was obsessed by Moorefield, our Gaelic Football Club….also by the Kildare Senior County Team…I remember the pride I felt when I played for my local club…I was never much good but I played at Juvenile, Minor and Junior level. One night when we were “very short” of players, I played Senior. In the first half I scored a goal in a friendly match against Round Towers. I thought my senior career was on the way. However the real senior players showed up at half time I was never picked again !!! I still remember the 1956 Leinster Final when The Lilys beat The Model. I went with my Da who died 4 months later. I remember being at the Kildare v Kerry match and saying to myself “I’m so wired up that I could die here”!!!…true, its only a game but when I see The Lily Whites run out in Croke Park, some ancient Tribal emotion fills my heart…I know that many view it all with cynicism, even disdain…I understand their position but I would not swap places with them….salad sandwiches and flasks of tea from the boot of a car, Hogan Stand Ticket in the breast pocket…Bring It On……give my best To Decky and Vickie in Culduff….YNWA
