My husband, my sister and her partner all went to the gig last night in Waterford. The two boys are big fans of yours and we were going along to be nice obliging partners and a little clueless! 🙈
You had our attention hook, line and sinker the minute you came on stage.
Your presence and the atmosphere you created was so amazing to be a part of. I have now become such a massive fan and have been listening to your music all day long. We will definitely be back to see you again.
P.S I have since learned you spent some time working and playing rugby in Cashel. I will definitely be claiming you ☺️
Christy's reply
Sure did Ruth…I worked in Clonmel back in 1964… enjoyed a great season with Cashel RFC…happy times back in the Old World…we won a few trophies that year and large bottles were consumed in wild profusion….some good players on that team some of whom went on to play with Garryowen and Munster
Welcome aboard the song train…always a pleasure to sing for newcomers
Hi Christy
We saw you recently in London after watching Tranmere Rovers win at Wembley. I’m pleased to say we have tickets to see you again on 4th October in Bundoran. My wife will be celebrating her 65th Birthday. We are travelling over from England stopping at Derry where I’m speaking at a social housing conference and then on to see you and have a short celebratory break. She doesn’t know yet that we are seeing you. It will be a birthday surprise.
Take care
Tom Murtha.
Thanks a million Christy for making Shane’s night last night. He is one very happy boy to have met you in person and he thoroughly enjoyed your concert last night. He is framing the pictures and autograph as we speak. Thanks again, myself and his Dad are really looking forward to your concert in the Marquis in Cork on the 6th July.
Sandra.
Back again safe and sound. I really loved the Royal Theater Gig and the day spent in Waterford City. What a mighty gig, thank you….Standout for me was Rosalita, had never heard it before. Be well. Brian.
Christy's reply
There I was on Saturday night regaling the audience about the lad who had come from New York to hear the songs….a voice came from the room..”he was here last night”
The Wife here Christy. Knowing how you support the “small fellas” in our society, my fella could really do with some of your lyrics to see him through the rest of this debacle. “You”ll never walk alone” has got him thus far.
Christy thank you so much for playing the request for us of First time ever i saw your face tonight in the theatre royal. You had the wife in tears. It was just perfect. We survived without going into labour haha. The night was brilliant. The voice, the guitar, the passion the wit and the banter is unparralel. Cant wait for the next one. Thank you for another brilliant night

Hi Christy
Im hoping you seen my Irish American mob story I sent you a novel haha
Christy's reply
It may be here Paul….You would not believe what comes in the post, Books and CDs, photos and cards, poems and paintings, medals and scapulars, mass cards and hate mail, I do try and get round to reading, listening, replying to them all but it takes time and I gotta prioritize my own stuff, gotta work on the ballads….
Christy I first saw you play in Belfield in 1975/6, and many times since then, but I don’t think I ever saw you as relaxed and happy in performance as tonight [Saturday 8 June 2019] in Waterford. The songs were powerful, touching, sad, funny, familiar and new, and all delivered perfectly. It’s great that you appreciate the venue, and that the Waterford audience work with you so well. It all made for a special night. Looking forward to your next visit. Keep well, and keep coming! Aidan.
Christy's reply
Always a welcoming City…..over the years I’ve played many venues there I recall Kate Reillys,The Forum, The Showband Tavern, The Bridge, once (famously) up in the (now abandoned) Jury’s on the Hill, a pub in Slieve Rua, but none so memorable as this beautiful Theatre…..keep coming back Aiden
Christy, I’m an Aussie on holiday in Ireland and booked tickets to tonights show before I left Sydney. What a hoot you are brilliant.
Thanks so much for a great night.

see you tonight
Morning Christy from the blue and yellow bedecked independent Border town.
This probably has nothing to do with your guestbook but i thought someone might be interested in my home town’s common riding.
Commemorating 1514 when a group of youngsters ( most men had been slain at Flodden field 1513) beat off the pillaging English and took their flag of blue and gold for our town.
Now hundreds of horsemen and horsewomen commemorate this, checking each boundary on horseback for weeks ,in case of english incursion, culminating in this weekend’s huge festivities.
We have a great tradition of song and a check of youtube will deliver some delights like Bonnie Teviotdale , I like auld Hawick the best, Teribus and Up wi’ the banner…..all worth clicking on by insomniacs and others.
With our song and history Hawick is worthy of a look, and yes we also check the area boundaries for Trump invasion and sing Hey Ronnie reagan too….or some of us do.
Regards and ‘safe oot safe in’
Rory
Ps with our colours and up wi’ the banner we should twin with kilkee and kilrush , clare ,perhaps!

Not very long till we’ll head for north-west, so we’re already looking forward to seeing you soon.
