I’m currently watching RTE One HD Live via OKLiveTV, but what will happen at 21:30 is a mystery yet to be unveiled:

I walked in the door and there was Jimmy Duck Holmes… …and two fellas from Dublin. I knew one of them. Ye can lower the periscope and stand up proud from behind the settee. I just finished watching Part 1 of your Journey on the telefís. Opened the floodgates of strong emotions. History of memories can do to a body, sometimes.

agh the poor auld Pooka has nearly vanished….an auld bollicks of a neighbour threw a bucket of water over us in 1954 and we singin for pennies for the pooka..then I broke my tooth on a swingin apple…I gave up all that pagan stuff and joined the altar boys..that went well fro a few seasons until Fr McNally lost the head with me in the sacristy after Mass of a Tue Morning in Nov. The auld tosser accused me of not puttin enough wine in his Chalice and him in the horrors…I baled after that and joined the F.C.A….that went very well until Cpl McAulliffe caught me square bashin round the wet canteen in Kilkenny in the Summer of 1960…I dropped out after that and have not looked back since….The Clancy Bros saved my bacon

Great reading of the success of th missionary work in England – and thanks to Hilary for a wonderful evocative summing up. And of course Adam the official tour photographer. Exciting times with films, CDs and all sorts. I know it can be a tense time for the artist but we have faith that it will be up there with the rest. Sure we’re coming into Championship season and time for the hard pulling. Keep well Christy.

Winter and Spring have been very busy. However I am not complaining. The recent English gigs could not have gone better.The album is finally mixed and ready for release. The Documentary goes out tonight and tomorrow. Filmed over 5 months it was a most enjoyable project I met some great people and worked with a great crew. Now that transmission is only hours away I feel apprehensive but also grateful that the work has been documented. Mark McLoughlin took the time to got behind the work. He shot over 40 hours and then had the unenviable task of stitching 2 hours together. Heres hoping all goes well.

A few years ago ,Springsteen lamented that there’s ’57 channels and nothing on’…FEC has it right that there’s about 500 now, but getting RTE TV here is like mission impossible.But in c 12 hours time,I’m sure these pages will be bulging with ‘Journey’ news.I followed the production process via your updates here.I’m sure the films will do justice to the integrity that underpins the music.Can’t wait for the DVD,but the new LP will be first…I’m reminded of the ace song ‘Lily of the West’…

Congratulations on an epic UK tour… a lot of your songs relate to migration and for those of us who have left Ireland to work abroad, they are incredibly powerful. Even for those of us lucky enough to be in work -rather than under Charing Cross Bridge, the songs about emigration have a special resonance and I’m sure that comes across to you too on stage. So thank you for making the effort to come over to the UK to play It feeds the soul.
Looking forward to the new album and I’ll catch up with the doc when I can… SKY have 500 channels that no one warches but don’t carry RTE -what’s that about?
