Sorry to hear about the illness Christy. Don’t rush the recovery – you miss so few gigs but you need to look after the health and make sure that you’re 100% fit for the never-ending tour. We appreciate the performances you give for your listeners and hope you’re on the road to recovery. Have a good Christmas, and see you along the way.
Christy, so sorry to hear that you are unwell and wishing you a speedy recovery. We were to see you on 23rd in Vicker st, and look forward to hearing you concert when you are well again. Take care, mind yourself and hope you can enjoy a nice restful Christmas with your family. Don’t rush the recovery now. Take it easy and we’ll get you again later. Slainte.
Dear Christy, so sorry to hear you’re not well. Thinking of you and sending positive vibes in the hope you’ll soon be better. Love from us all. Helen, Manuel, Tallulah and Noah
Dear Christy, We are so sorry to hear of your illness. Hope you’ll get well soon. Keep warm and take care of yourself. Very best wishes for your recovery, Traudel + Horst
I was so sorry to read this morning that you are unwell. Illness is no respecter of schedules and personal commitments and, when it hits, we must simply let it take its course. Everyone understands and accepts that there are things outside of our control so you just concentrate on getting better before Santy arrives!!! I hope you are starting to feel a little stronger in yourself, that is a nasty “dose” you have and you cannot afford to take any chances with it. Looking forward to seeing you when all is right and healthy again x
You give out so much good juju on a daily basis to so many… Time for the listeners to send some back to you ! Don’t let the frustration stand in the way of your recovery. Xxx
Hi Christy A Stor – So very sorry to hear you are not well – I can only imagine how bad you are feeling not being able to do a gig – God Bless you and take good care of yourself and as Hil says – do what you are told and please God you will have a very speedy recovery – Best Regards xx

Hi christy, i requested last year that you would play ‘little musgrave’ for my aunt Catherine who was very grateful of that. If it wasn’t too much trouble would you be able to try play it again for her this year, she is a very special aunt to me and it would make her night. Cheers christy, happy Christmas.
Morning there Christy from another damp day beneath the shadow of the misty Saddleworth Moor.
No great news to report but wanted to take the opportunity to thank you and all the contributors to the page for sharing their thoughts and experiences surrounding your music. The holidays are fast approaching and I see you have a busy schedule so my best wishes for Christmas to you and your family.
I hope to get to see you sometime in the new year maybe even over in your neck of the woods.
keep the music live.
God Bless (whichever one you have)
Frankie.

Oldham Rd in Rochdale was home for a spell back in ’67/’68. Played dominoes in ‘The Morning Star’.Used to hear Jack and Mavis every Thursday night in The Kingsway. The Valley Folk had their Folk Club at The Blue Bell in Bury every Saturday, Tue was Hopwood Hall Middleton, Wed there was St Clares on Victoria Ave…..it was a busy time for young folk singers
Hi Christy sorry it’s taken a few days to get to this just wanted to say I really enjoyed the Ardilaun ye were all in fine form it was great to hear The time has come’ Butterfly and John of Dreams and a special thanks for making my daughter Ailbhe’s night possibly her year she is 12 and it was her first big concert and one she might never forget,I asked her what she thought after about 6 songs and she said it was epic so after you sang a song for her and she got the plec she was buzzing anyway thanks again so much and thanks to Hilary who looks after us all hope you and yours have a lovely all the best, Face the puck out
Christy's reply
I spotted Ailbhe during the gig. Whatever way the lights were set she was the only person in the room I could see all the time. When the gig was over I twigged ’twas Iggy sitting by her side. Great to see her there and to sing a song for her. I think that was Áine the other side of you whom whom we meet every year at The Bantry Masters. It was a grand night Igg. Must be getting on for 25 years since we first gigged together for Benny & Nelis out in CJ’s. They were hot sweaty summer gigs, especially when the power was cut. I have many memories of thon times…perhaps the most vivid was a young Spainish Student…after Quinte Brigada she stood up and stormed out with clenched fist uttering “Vive Le Franco” ( or whatever it was that a young facist might shout in Salthill of a Summers night ) I thought to myself, fair play to her but Fuck Franco
Mr Moore or Dear Christy
For me you are Dear Christy nut you don’t know me so maybe Mr Moore is more correct. 🙂 Since I heard the record Ride On first time back in the eighties I have had a special feeling for “Viva la Quince Brigada”. It has stayed in my heart and I have sung it many times when performing because it is an important song.
Lately even more then before because of what is happening around us,
I have been thinking that if I ever shall cover a song while recording my own stuff, this is the song. And so it happened in Spain. The brown shadow is creeping over the land and all over Europe. Yesterday in the studio I said to the boys. Lets record “Viva”. We are doing this as a statement against what is happening around us, also in Sweden. Yes we have our own murky history in the past.
I don’t know how to reach you about this but I wanted you to know and maybe this is a way to do it.
Your songs and music have given me a lot of inspiration in my musical work beside other artists as Ronnie Lane and John Sebastian.
Thanks for the word.
All the best
/Bo

Go for it Bo..with all your heart and spirit…I look forward to hearing your version…let us all face the rising fascist tide
Wonderful gig in the Ardilaun, Christy – the trek through the storms was well worth the effort and great to see you in such fine fettle. Thank you so much for the shout out. I just loved the guy singing along with the Cliffs of Dooneen – he sang along to a few and was a true Christy fan. I know he enjoyed his night and you made him feel like the special guy that he is. Thank you to the crew and the MOC gang – plenty of good tunes and songs in my head now to carry me through the Christmas shopping. Thanks – as always.
Christy's reply
the lad who sang The Cliffs with me was the star of the night…3 nights later and I’m still buzzing..great to be able to say that on year 48 of the tour…big call out for Crazy Diamond but we have not done it yet with the Trad Outfit.,its on the list,,,glad you made it back Foyle side in time for the Christmas Shopping…back in the day I used to find it very hard to get out of Galway…used to get snarled up in the porter traffic
Thank you so much Christy and band for such an amazing night in the Ardilaun this week. We could have easily sat and listened all night. T’was great to hear some of my favourites, Motherland, Beeswing and The Reel in The Flickering Light. The hairs were literally standing from start to finish. But then again, you could sing just about anything and the impact would be the same.. A special thank you to the lovely Hilary, your kindness was very much appreciated by us all.
Was great to see you in all your glory from the second row Christy 🙂 Hopefully we will see you back in Galway again soon.
Thanks again, and a very happy Christmas to you all x

Galway has always been a favourite halting place…camped in Salthill in 1963 with Johnny Flood, my old townie ..sang The Jug of Punch and Rosin The Bow in O’Connors that year…then in 1972 did my first gig in Galway..back in the Old Hanger ( where Leisureland stands) I’ve been back there every year since, thru thick and thin, thru wet and dry and I always feel at home there…The Cellar, Bridie Hogans, The Harbour, Mrs Cullens……all the old thirsty ducks,Corky,Peter G, Mickey F, Mate Lydon to name a few, all gone to The Big Fleadh…theres songs and music in the air there, Tony Small Songs, Johnny Mulhearn Songs, Johnny Duhan Songs, Gerry Joyce Songs, Dolores Keane Songs,…playing over The Corrib with Mairtín O’Connor’s Band is very special for me..they wrap the songs in a cloak thats a perfect fit for me…no shite nor shapes, just music from the heart..glad you enjoyed it, we sure did..thanks for your feedback
Hi Christy, it was a pleasure to have seen you in Tullamore on Nov. 28, 2014. My husband, Chris and I flew over to Ireland from Newfoundland just to see you live. I had the pleasure of seeing and meeting you there back in 2009 but Chris couldn’t make it at that time. This time, Chris was with me and we thoroughly enjoyed your show, especially the song you dedicated to Ron and your wishes of good health for him. Thanks so much for singing “The Voyage” and “North and South”, two of our favorites. Little Musgrave, The Reel in the Flickering Light and Biko Drum were great surprises to us also. Loved the show and look forward to seeing you again. Special Thanks to Hilary also for her friendship.
