its not generally known, has never been acknowledged publicly, that Johnny Lydon always wanted to be a folk singer…was forever listening to the old ballads but could not develop the sense of nyaaaaah required..I often heard of him lurking furtively around folk clubs taking notes on singers like Noel Murphy, Diz Disley, Johnny Silvo, some of what he learned becomes apparent with his wonderful butter ads …a proper country gent our Johnny
Hi Christy, watched early Corrie with grandparents, they’d met Violet Carson who played Ena Sharples she’d been famous around this area as a pianist, apparently nothing like the character she played, her best line, “When I go I want to go like my mother, she just sat down, broke wind and died”, could there be a better way. Bett Lynch was a regular visitor to Bury market, not the veg stall I worked on, but often saw her swanning past. Only have to hear Corrie’s theme tune and I’m back in the sixties.
Looking forward to concert in January, and so hope we can have a real one not too long into new year. Pam

At the church there was a fleet in a mad rush to get in and they were stopped by thon priest.
The priest said “listen now you lot ..only close family are let in “and he pointed out that some of them wouldn’t set foot inside the church when there was no restrictions at all!

Anyway Christy i just wanted to again say thanks for Me and the Rose. She brings a constant smile, a lifestory in ten minutes, of course the epitaph is bound to be a little embellished, the lily guilded but what fun.
It leads me to this question…Joxer, Lisdoonvarna, Me and the Rose…do you adore writing a musical story, or are these just fantastically happy coincidences?
Listening to my bedtime musical story…i was wearing me platfforms.

Your busy days sound full of song. Lots of momentum. Can you tell us anything about it?
Please, I hope you haven’t spent time looking for that recording. If you stumble across it thats different.
Here’s another one of my determined warblings. It’s not The Peacock’s Feather, I’m working hard on that. https://youtu.be/lKRdksPO1hg
I hope you enjoy it and it’s not too bad, the mobile phone mic needs to be further away, I think. Either that or I need to knuckle down and do it properly.
Anyone else noticed an email from Dice saying 16th January is the date for the NCH gig?

Earlier today I did an interview with Miriam O’Callaghan about “The Early Years”.It will go out on RTE Radio 1 at 10 am on Sunday Week. The programme is called Miriam Meets.
Yesterday I did an Album interview with Eddie Rowley. It will be published in The Sunday World this weekend.
On Sat I will perform “The Reel in The Flickering Light” for a Winter Solstice Celebration which will be transmitted on RTE TV on Winter Solstice.
I am daily working on new (and old) material for an album that I will commence to record as soon as the coast is clear..
Also planning a song list for a streamed gig from the NCH Dublin in January

Have you tried the amazing collection of Tiny Desk Concerts on youtube?
What an array of talent, some of my favs range from Rufus Wainwright to Idles, from Yusuf Islam to Cranberries…..limerick’s finest i guess.
Cheers
Rory
I may have mentioned it already….when I last sang for the Irish Rugby Squad I was delighted to meet young Tadhg Beirne…..his Mother once held the Title “Rose of Tralee” whilst serving as a member of our Police Force ( An Garda Síochána)…..
” can you account for your movements ?”
Bryan, I hope you are ok.
Hello Christy,
Your busy days sound full of song. Lots of momentum. Can you tell us anything about it?
Please, I hope you haven’t spent time looking for that recording. If you stumble across it thats different.
Here’s another one of my determined warblings. It’s not The Peacock’s Feather, I’m working hard on that.

I hope you enjoy it and it’s not too bad, the mobile phone mic needs to be further away, I think. Either that or I need to knuckle down and do it properly.
Anyone else noticed an email from Dice saying 16th January is the date for the NCH gig?
Rebecca
Also planning a song list for a streamed gig from the NCH Dublin in January
thats where current momentum is taking me
Well done with Rosalita & Jack Cambell
