Alright Christy, in for a penny , in for a pound , here is my four sense
Rosalita and Jack
Spancill Hill
Ringing the Bell
Fairlytale
I feel the fairytale is the odd one out for some strange reason and should be replaced with
Clock winds down to zero, ok in with the clock out with Fairytale. ,
I learned Lawless from 6 nights outa 10 at the point back in the day, I’m probably off the mark , but for the love of holy fathers are ye trying to drive us mad in the noggin. Here’s a question for you, How many wild flowers are in a field of Lily’s?.
Take care of yourselves and be kind to each other, I’ve always wanted to write a song with the line “ a simple act of kindness “ I love the image of those 5 words, love Fin

The things we get up to with time on our hands
over the recent 10 nights in Vicar St we performed 264 versions of 73 different songs. 4 tracks were performed every night, 18 were played but once… (some of the 18 have already been mentioned in the current quiz ! )….
I’m reminded of a friend of mine who recently analyzed the word ANALYZE…he broke it down to anal and eyes..I suspect he may have been suggesting that I might be spending too much time lookin up me own hole…but that might be down to paranoia
***in 1969 I was living in Halifax..every lunchtime I used to frequent the Upper George pub for a swift gallon…Joe South singing “Games People Play” on the jukebox was a fixation
Hello Christy,
Just a hello from the banner county, and also wondering with all the gigs cancelled at the moment. would it be an idea for when this is all over to have one big hooly in a massive field in north clare ;-), Maybe someone might sell choc ices and the likes.
All the best and look forward to the next gig.
Regards
Pat
Christy's reply
Nice idea Pat…we’ll look into it…I’ve spoken to Garth Brooks and he’s mad up for it…..but he insists its gotta be 6 nights…..The Script might play if the event could be sponsored by Diageo…Ed Sheeran and Coldplay are keen….The Bonnamh is not talking to me….would you go for Mrs.Brown ? I hear she’d do it for 90% of the gate in advance, I’d be hopin to get Lady GaGA and Bjork, but if I had my own way I’d go for Ray & Philomena….I’ll get on to Richard Bruton to see if Viagogo would flog the tickets…Leo promises to attend if I can get Kylie to commit…. Charlie Flanagan would come provided we honour the Black & Tans…
are there any “massive fields”in North Clare ?
How the Hell we gonna maintain Social Distancing of a Saturday night in North Clare if Iggy Pop is naked on Stage and Paddy Doherty lets off a firework display…Jasus Pat we could be biting off more then we can chew….will you put up the posters ?
Howiya again good sir.
This is bringing back great memories of the gigs I have seen you play.
I have only managed to get to 8 of your shows in my lifetime, but every time you played my favorite song, ordinary man,
So I’m going to put that in there as my first guess
The second song I think it would be is the Beeswing as it’s just such a beautiful song and I feel it has more meaning to you than others when I see you play it.
As the run of gigs was at Christmas time I’m going for Fairytale of New York as my third guess, you do such a beautiful job on it.
The fourth one has me really thinking.
I was going to say jingle bells as it was around Christmas and I could just picture you taking in to a verse of it mid song for the Christmas spirit.
I was also thinking it could have been the national anthem amhran na bhfiann, but then I thought of how much of a love you have of your home and how you wear your heart on your sleeve with pride,so I’m going to go with your very own national anthem, the Curragh of Kildare as your fourth
It really is hard as you have such a huge repertoire to choose from…
And if I’m allowed a substitute here I’d go with the reel in the flickering light 😁
Thanks for being a legend

Meanwhile I listen to and enjoy many of your songs. Stay safe and keep your spirits high

Hello Christy
Many moons ago we were in the Shere Khan on Wilmslow Road. I don’t know if you know it? It was pretty big and posh. There were pickle trays in the window.
It was busy and we were near the window. Steve had just helped himself to his third pickle tray when the proprietor must have noticed. The rest of those pickle trays disappeared mighty quickly.
There’s a lovely curry house in Ennis. They put vanilla in the pillau rice.
