Good morning Christy from Wanaka….here we are listening to on the road as we prepare for my daughter Danielle’s 40th Birthday celebration and of course you are on our play list for the party…we shall have a good ceilidh with you plaiting us 🙂 X
Hi Christy, I am Harry. I was at your gig on Saturday night it was great 👍🏻🤗! I got a new hat with your name on it. Jimmy,Cothal and Declan were great🥁🎻🎸! I got your plectrum! I am already using it to practice my guitar🎸! Thanks Harry!
Christy's reply
Hey Harry,
Good to hear from you…glad that you are practicing…those plectrums suit me…..I was playing for years before I began using a plectrum….
You are right about the 3 lads..they are great players and I feel very lucky to be in a band with them..
keep up the good work….
We have traveled to Mullingar to hear the music for the last few years now. We are lucky enough each year to meet some other fans before and after the gig and share our thoughts. The vibes from the music wonderful as always and we all left feeling regenerated. Thanks for “They Never Came Home” always remembered at this time of the year, especially by those who live close to Artane as many worked in Superquinns in Northside and Sutton. Thanks to you, Declan, Cathal and Jimmy and the crew for a great night. Already looking forward to seeing you in Limerick. Keep well. JD

Hope everything is ok with you and the rest of the crew?
Yesterday evening we’ve had a wonderful Irish night here in our little town.
Hilary( what would we be without her) informed me about a gig of The Fiddle Case in my neighborhood.
It was in a private house on an attic and it was splendid!
Those guys really enjoyed playing and it felt a bit like in the old days when I came to Ireland and there was music everywhere.
I had a nice chat with Eoin who knows you well and he told me a few stories of your adventures together. You really are his big example!

I understand …. I too love playing some small intimate venues….thats where it all began for me…perhaps where it will end for me….
that said, I love playing with this Band, working with this crew, reaching so many listeners young and old, the excitement of hundreds, sometimes thousands of people gathering, listening, singing….
Eoin O’Neill is a wonderful musican…forever at the hub of the great West Clare Music scene… as well as being at the heart of manys the session he also accompanies and encourages many people to play….has been the guiding light for manys the young player….we dont get to meet very often but I hear many reports of Eoin’s generosity of spirit in the midst of all that West Clare Music
I would like to commend yourself, Declan, Cathal and Jim on yet another great show in Mullingar last night. Myself (age 22), brother, mam and dad attend as many gigs of yours as possible. We just love your music so much and cannot get enough of it.
I would also like to thank you so much for playing “A Pair of Brown Eyes” after I requested it. A very special song for me.
Thanks again Christy, will see you in the tullamore court next.

I was looking for a postal address to send you a letter I had written but I came to this and thought it might suit you better on the road.
I hope all is well and that you’re enjoying the tour. I got to see twice last year in Gorey with my girlfriend Áine and in Portlaoise with my brother Eoghan and my two good friends Owen and Henry. Great night each night and I was like a child at Christmas for weeks before each concert. Great to hear you live after all the years of records, tapes, cds, radio, tv and all forms of the internet these days.
I am writing to you say thanks for all the company your music brings and for transporting me to a different place and time. The Curragh Of Kildare makes me homesick for a county that we love to beat in football. Dunnes Stores paints the brave the struggle of Mary Manning against Apartheid and black suits. Valentine’s Day and Stardust always keeps a terrible tragedy close to mind. While your version of every song is always sublime. So many more I could mention that I listen to daily.
All yours songs and singing has inspired me to try my hand at my own song writing and guitar playing. Can’t bate the four or five chords and a good story.
The next time I get to hear you will be in Portlaoise in April with my brother, girlfriend and two friends again and we can’t wait. It will be a Great Friday.
Kind regards,

always a beautiful song to sing…I’ll see if we can have it ready..its been a while since
I first heard it in 1972…at an early Planxty rehearsal our Sound Engineer Nicky Ryan played an album by the American band Mountain and thats when I first heard it…straightaway I wanted to sing it and it was on the first album I recorded after leaving Planxty in 1974…and I think I have recorded it a few times since
My wife and I are coming to see you this Friday 15th in Mullingar. Alison, my wife, lost her godmother and cousin, Carol Bissett in the Stardust tragedy. It would be amazing if you could sing “They Never Came Home” at this gig. Thanks a million!.

Hi Christy, my name is Harry. I was at my first Christy concert last August in leisure land. I loved it so much that I asked Santa for tickets to another concert. He brought me some for your show in mulingar next Saturday night. Thank you for inspiring me to love music. I can’t wait for the show. When I grow up I want to be like you. I hope you sing if I get an encore, I love that song. Back home in Derry and ordinary man are my favourites too. I play the guitar too and my hobby is singing. I’ve been counting the sleeps to the concert and there are only 7 more to go! I can’t wait! See you Saturday, love Harry 🎤🎸😊

Hi Christy
In 2012 in Mullingar, you sang 2 Island Swans in memory of my sister Pauline, we sang it at her funeral. If the spirit moves you and it suits the set, I would love it if you could sing it again.
Looking forward to Friday nigh!
Madeleine
always a beautiful song to sing…I’ll see if we can have it ready..its been a while since
I first heard it in 1972…at an early Planxty rehearsal our Sound Engineer Nicky Ryan played an album by the American band Mountain and thats when I first heard it…straightaway I wanted to sing it and it was on the first album I recorded after leaving Planxty in 1974…and I think I have recorded it a few times since
Hi Christy,
My wife and I are coming to see you this Friday 15th in Mullingar. Alison, my wife, lost her godmother and cousin, Carol Bissett in the Stardust tragedy. It would be amazing if you could sing “They Never Came Home” at this gig. Thanks a million!.
Regards
Brendan
Sound Brendan…hope we can oblige
Great to be on home turf last night Christy.
Loving the adjustments to the Cabaret.
Sail on Jimmy!
Thanks Aisling…..Kilashee was wonderful for all our team, Band and Crew..
it has a very special significance for me going way back to when it was a Convent… glad you like the new turn in “Cabaret”
Sound Man Harry…..Wish you a long life playing and singing….when I was a lad I was inspired by Liam Clancy ….I watched him sing and play with his Brothers and Tommy Makem back around 1962….
” Its of a brave young highwayman a story now I’ll tell
his name was Willie Brennan, near Galway he did dwell”
I got my first guitar, learned 3 chords and I was away on a hack
Hi Christy.
Thanks for a great gig last night in Killashee.
You are a legend and what a performance.
I have seen you in a few places around Ireland, and I have to say the home gigs are the best.
Would have loved to be at the gig on Saturday as well.
Thanks for signing Bright Blue Rose.
Take Care Christy.
