Christy , you were amazing last night! It was my first time seeing you live and you exceeded all expectations.
I wanted to say how grateful I am that you sang the song my husband requested some weeks ago (I’m Ali, from Florida … and you played Burning Times for me!). It means so much ! Moved me to tears.
We have both been fans for a long long time , and your music was actually one of the first things we ever spoke about when we first met. I won bonus points for knowing who you were and not saying “Christy Moore ? Who is she ?”
So thanks again for a fantastic show. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
Christy's reply
I love that song…must try and sing it more often…so many songs come and go , new songs come into the set and others must make way…. Charlie’Murphy’s “Burning Times” should be heard more often…. betimes it unsettles the night but that was not the case last night..it was a noble call , all the way from Florida…have a good visit and a safe journey home…peace be with us all
Christy thanks for a fantastic show last night and for giving Cairenn and Dermot a shout out – they were delighted. Amazing play list – the show goers tonight arenin for a treat x
Christy's reply
always a joy when young listeners come to hear these old songs…..I hope Caireann liked “Little Musgrave”
Great to hear you’re singing Seán Mone’s excellent song. He played at a couple of fundraisers around Coalisland a few years back for the local hurling club. Had the crowd in his hand each time and afterwards wouldn’t take a penny for his efforts. I met him after one of the sessions and he was an unassuming gentleman. Roll on this evening Christy. Ar aghaidh linn.
Christy's reply
tis a damp and dirty morning but theres a good spell up ahead…looking forward to this evening , to doing it allover again, always that bit different, every audience is unique, every gig has its own atmosphere…last nights audience will never reconvene, last nights set list will never be repeated….. an added dimension tonight will be the presence of the man who wrote the song…. the man from Keady

Hello Christy , hello world ! I hope I am finding you well , I’m a laois man with a personal request , as I’m not a major social media talent I’m just going straight to the point … I’m delightfully getting married on the 4 th of November ’17 and obviously marrying the love of my life . Traditional wedding with lovely songs and hymns , we have chosen tonight without much deliberation a song for when we are signing the register, THE VOYAGE by your good self , my wife to be is such a patient girl with my commitment to work and us that I’d love to make our day a little extra special for her, if you could consider singing it for just for her on the altar I would be forever grateful , I’ve never done anything like this before. This is very short notice and if you are otherwise engaged I totally understand, thanks for your time reading this , I’ll be aiming to surprise the bride on the day so to all reading this hush hush . I can be contact iPhone@quarry.ie .
Yours sincerely
The Groom .
Christy's reply
Hey Deep Rock,
your not as slow on the social media as you make out….much as I would love to sing at your wedding its simply not possible…a while ago a woman asked me to sing at her wedding (as a surprise for her intended)…I was barely into the first verse of “Ride On” when the poor man fainted with excitement hitting his head off the holy water font on the way down….the alter boy dropped the thurible and the hot coals set the priest’s soutane on fire..he ran into the sacristy and jumped into the water butt ouside the back door, unfortunately there were two nuns ( Sr Contracepta and Sr Psychological Warfare) walking past as he clambered from the barrell, the poor man was charged with indecent exposure and the mickey half burnt off him….to make matters worse ( to be contd Page 94)
Christy a chara. I’m travelling from Tyrone among the bushes to Belfast this Thursday to hear you at The Waterfront. I’m taking my wife (2nd time) and the mother in law (1st time) to see you. There’s hardly a day goes by that I don’t listen to one of your tunes or dip into One Voice for a drop of inspiration.
Well Christy Moore I’ll sing you a song,
I’ve been listening to you for God knows how long,
With Moving Hearts, Planxty or doing your own thing,
I can’t get enough of the songs that you sing.
Ádh mór ort a chara agus tchifidh mé thú Déardaoin.
Christy's reply
well Joe, all I can say is that you are some brave man…goin to a gig with your 2nd wife and your 1st mother-in-law…..how do they get on with each other ?…I’ve requested extra female security for tomorrow night in case it all kicks off
Loved every minute of your show in RFH, went with family and friends and everyone so happy. Big kids ecstatic and sang along with every word of the reel in the flickering light and thanks too for the little Musgrave, I requested it 2 years ago. All the better for the wait!! My dream is to hear you in a small venue in Ireland or UK, are these events always on the website??? Brigid xxx thanks for all the wonderful songs over the years in Ireland and London
Christy's reply
Thanks Brigid…I thought I could hear young “chadults” harmonize on the Flicker..well reared indeed…..played a few small gigs last year in Nell’s Cafe in London…heard a whisper that they might happen again but nothing definite to report…
Coming home from Canada and had to make sure we caught a gig. Can’t wait for Wednesday in Belfast. We’ve made all the neighbours over there fans! Vinny and Caroline….
