I’ve a great vivid memory of a gig there 30 years ago…tuning upstairs in the family drawing room, a big loud Grandfather clock,I was practicing Johnny Duhan’s “El Salvador” (for the Ride On Album). Hi Christy
We enjoyed a fabulous few days in Ireland at Easter, topped by your superb performance at Nuremore on the 4th. The mention for my sister Julies birthday was much appreciated (At first she thought there were more visitors from Leicester!!) The music was just great and everyone was in great form (including t

Hi Christy.
I have typed the following don’t know how many times and it just never seems right, so just to do this and leave it as it stands.
My wife Lorraine and myself attended your concert in Edinburgh last year at festival theatre at the time she had been diagnosed with cancer, during the concert you sang ride on which had us both in tears, she made me promise that I would have it played at her funeral sadly she passed away in July, ride on was played as she was brought into the crematorium.
I have real problems listening to that song now and am not sure if could attend another concert in Edinburgh. I have decided to come over to Dublin and attend your concert at Vicar st on 21st, could I ask if you could play Ride On there not sure if would be able to sit through it
thank you

The reason I wish to get in touch is the encouragement and reviews I’ve had on an Original song I play there. Its one that may interest you ( I pray!). Has a story to it with humour, great lyrics and catchy tune.
How does a fellow with no experience in the music world get a song out to you? Is there a place that I could send you a demo of the track?
Would very grateful for any advice you may offer.
kindest regards from the old home town.

Been ramblin’ ’round the isle soaking everything up in a strange state of mind… Found myself singin’ this song. Luke Cheevers brought me to the posthumous release ‘party’ of Frank Harte’s last album, that night was a game changer for me. Donal Lunny was there, Andy Irvine etc. Everyone in Toners in town sang this unaccompanied, it rattled me. There was a few hanger onners about, I guess I was somewhere in between or just oblivious as to what it was that I was invited to. Anyways, was wonderin’ if ye sang it?
