Christy,
Thanks so much for the brilliant show last night! We’ve been fans for decades, so the trip over to see you in Castlebar was long anticipated–and more than worth it. Best, Devin and Jonathan

Thank You both….
great atmosphere in that room last night….
I really appreciate those of you who commit to such long journeys , commit so much time at such enormous expense to come and hear the songs….I got my first guitar back in 1959, all I wanted to do was sing some Clancy Brothers Ballads…2 chords allowed me to start…..I never dreamt of playing in public….the practice grew legs that have carried me around the world and home again….it is a glorious mystery to me that the journey still continues…that listeners like yourselves enjoy hearing these song as much as I enjoy singing them…
safe journey back to Portland…greetings to all songsters in that City of many cultures
Dear Christy I hope you and yours are well. Does All For the Roses ever get a whirl at the gigs? Just listening to it while steaming the carpets. It’s just wonderful words and melody alike. Best xx

what a lovely picture you paint this Saturday afternoon….Anuk “steaming the carpets”….my glasses are getting fogged up just thinking about it….
please let me know when you next plan to attend and I’ll attempt to have that great song ready for performane…
I agree with you…it is one of Wally Page’s classic songs….so many great lines….such cruel and beautiful imagery…..
I think Wally’s original version was called Finglas Boys…I sought his permission to make a few slight alterations…I felt it might open it up a bit….

battered human bodies bled
they butchered us we butchered

Hello Christy,
Thankyou for listening to the beginningsvof my tune. You are right, I was very unfamiliar with it when I recorded it. It was only just appearing. I embraced the chaos and records it unformed. Keeping working.
I’m missing the gigs. Good to read about them here.
Just a quick message to say thanks for an amazing performance last night in Castlebar. We drove down from Belfast for the gig and it was worth every mile and more.
Looking forward to the next time we get to see you perform.
Thanks for the latest chat Christy.. always great to read about the traipsin’.. your appreciation to the mighty crew reminded me of the Jackson Browne song “The Load Out”.. Anyone got a number for Lar’s Bakery..

Great to read the latest chat- such a full and fulfilling year. Bringing so much joy to so many- long may it continue. As always, Great to see recognition of the backroom guys who keep the show on the road. Saw Richard Thompson in Derry Guildhall on Tuesday night- an amazing guitarist and has written some exceptional songs. Stay well and hopefully see you along the way.
