Been a long time since I’ve seen you live, going on 12 years now, and will be the first time for my lovely wife, Lucy. Looking forward to the show tomorrow. G’luck.

Eilish and I kicked about together for seventy nine and a half years….sometimes side by side, other times riven apart, from Texas to New South Wales, Eccles St to Clonmel, Fallen Angels to Moving Hearts, Inchicore to Coolcullen ….yet part of us never left that Terrace in County Kildare……those early years in that shared space created a bond that held us firm until last Friday….we all gathered to bid her a last farewell….off she went…no bell on her bike and her laughter ringin…that was the way with Eilish…….always aware of the dark she looked towards the lighter side….

Christy,
I hope everything went as well as it could yesterday, and that there was solace in the presence of those around you.
I am a lifelong fan and yet, tomorrow night in the National Concert Hall will be my first time at one of your gigs. My partner Beulah is a more recent addition to your following, partly by osmosis from me, and she has a particular fondness for A Stitch in Time. I’ve no doubt that the set list is well written at this stage, but if you could squeeze it in it would make her night.
In any case, all the best for tomorrow night.

Away She Went
Her last gig thronged
As Always, Eilish knew how to create a gathering,
It feels as if we are floating in her wake
All buoyed by memories of times well spent…
The Set List is always written on the hoof
Mike Waterson’s “Stitch” features regularly
Hopefully Beulah’s choice will emerge
At this moment, the matter is entirely beyond my control
There are times when I fail to sing a song that I myself want to hear

Christy, I just wanted to send my condolences to you and the rest of the family on the passing of your sister Ellish. She sounds like a bit of a character & from what I have read a great music lover, I’m sure you will give her a great send off.

Dear Christy,
I have only just learned of your loss, here in the guestbook, and offer my sincere sympathies on the passing of Eilish. We sometimes fail to notice the sheer weight of a siblings influence on our lives and such is the way with the ever-present, it is easily taken for granted. Siblings are commonly the longest relationships we as individuals will have in our lifetimes, and I feel for the bereavement you must be experiencing.
My condolences to you and all the extended family.
