Iin the past few years,I’ve been lucky to attend drama productions here when http://www.anuproductions.ie have visited…’promenade productions ‘ literally take the audience on a journey…physically and dramatically, following the scenes of the play. I’ve just got a newsletter announcing a Winter production in Dublin…Joyce’s ‘The Dead’ ..I doubt I’ll see it,but based on my experiences of Anu,see it if you can!!

Hi Christy.
I see you are coming to Leeds in October. Looking forward to that one.
I mentioned in a previous conversation with you that my band Hebble were recording Ordinary man and should we mention you in the credits but you advised it was Peter Hames song. We have done this now thank you very much.
Just a thought though. When you come to Leeds would it be possible to support you on this occasion. I’ll happily provide you with band info and links if you thought it was possible.
Regards
Aidan.
Christy's reply
Regrets Aiden…I’ve no such plans for October…This is the first I’ve heard about it ..where did you hear such fake news ?

Hi Christy. You were unreal, fair play. Recently ive been practicing the guitar a lot and ive got a list of about 30-40 songs. In trying get a balance between old and new songs in order to cater to different audiences. I also recently started playing in pubs which has been great. Is there any songs youd recommend me learning? And also if youd ever like to hear a tune or two id be more than happy. Thank you and again well done on Friday, Harry.
Woke up to news that makes music hard to raise spirits, but Woody’s doing his best…

Listened to Peggy Seeger last night with Sons Neil & Calum..beautiful gig from Peggy and her “Boys”…still an inspiration….as we left the venue Peggy was sitting down to greet the entire audience who were lined up in a long queue to meet her….
Dear Christie, it is a long held dream of mine to see you live in concert, a dream which has never come true. I’m 60 now and find it difficult to travel. So I am inviting you to visit Durham, a beautiful and historic city in the North East of England. We have some beautiful venues to showcase your music, and you would receive the legendary welcome only us northerners can give you. I would love to hear back from you and will keep my fingers crossed until I do 🤞🏻🙏🏻
Christy's reply
I know the feeling Marie….age slows us all down a bit….
that said, we were at Peggy Seeger’s farewell tour last night and the Good Woman still stately and sprightly, beautiful and engaging at a fresh 90 …
60 years ago I first visited Durham and the region….so many great clubs beckoned..Prudhoe, Marsden, Washington, Chester-le-Street,
If I ever get another run at life I’d be there in a blink
The memory lives on, be it fact or fiction….brill Christy.
Dave mentioning Anne Brings reminded me of Sweeney’s Men, and Anne’s fascination with Sean-nós singing, and that brought Aodh Ó Duibheannaigh to mind, a beautiful gentle singer and story teller in Rannafast. When I asked him if that event actually happened, he smiled and said, wrong question a Pháid the real question is ‘could it have happened’. Then, fact or fiction, it’s real story.
Christy's reply
you got me humming “The Reel in The Flickering Light”, thinking about Chris Wood’s ” One in a Million” ….”The Yellow Bittern”
Just wanted to let you know I travelled from Belfast yesterday with my wife and 21 year old daughter to see you last night. It was my daughter’s first time seeing you live. She has been a fan for many years and she was blown away.
We loved every minute of the concert and it was worth every mile.
Keep the tours going
As a great singer and musician once said:
“see you again soon”

The Solstice is flaming. Here I am in Settle, protesters for palestine on the square.
They’ve been right from the beginning, god bless them. The Old Naked man cafe is cool and bright and the coffee is good and black.
Yesterday’s Anne Briggs music was informative,as well as enjoyable…reading excellent sleeve notes by Colin Harper. Made me realise how many times I’ve appreciated his writing. A busy,Belfast guy,he doesn’t have a website. But,lots of books and online pieces…’The Afterword’is a lovely forum.
Ms Briggs is rightly lauded for trad songs, but her songs writing skills were sharp at an early age…can’t do a link via this phone, but I had ‘Living by the water’ on repeat yesterday…great tune too
Enjoy the day
