Hi I am writing to ask a favour christy sang tribute to the four crash victims in Co kildare last week, the mother of one girl lives near me and she was told this, and she asked if I could find out which song it was as she would like to relate it to her memory of her daughter thanks so much in advance any help greatly appreciated x
Well Christy,
I’m glad to see you’re back on the mend, I can’t wait to hear that voice in full swing tonight, it’ll beat the January Blues!!
When I heard you at the same venue last January you kindly dedicated the song “My Little Honda 50” for a good friend of mine John Daly, and he’s been talking about it ever since!!
If you happen to sing Back in Home in Derry tonight, could you please dedicate it to John Smith? He’s a keen follower of yours from Cavan who will attend the gig with me tonight!!
I hope 2015 is a great year for you, Marcaigh ar Aghaidh a Christy!!

Brilliant chat Christy, great that you are back in the Groove.
Looking at the 1984 set list, i’m just thinking what a privilege it is for us that all of them songs still live on today, because of you and the marvellous crew around you. Long may the everlasting tour continue.
Looking forward to the first “fix” of 2015 in the Board Gais.
Ride on.

My father in law passed away recently and since he loved Christy’s music, discovered by him when went on holidays to Ireland, we have chosen ” Don’t Forget Your Shovel” when he is leaving the church. I hope he enjoys it and that Christy doesn’t mind

twas a cold day Agnes but the dinner was hot..just after rattlin out the Bucks here with Mairtín and the boys..we’re gettin ready to play, kickin off in 50 mins…
Hello dear Christy,
Hope this finds you well. Sad to say we had to leave the Island again but we got home safe in next to no time, the west wind was driving the plane, and we are grateful for the wonderful time we could spend there. At first two days in sunny but chilly Dublin (no snow and ice this time thank God!), always worth a visit, afterward more than a week on lovely Beara where we admired the rough sea in Caribbean colours and the full moon over Bantry Bay and the very best at the end – your Kilkenny gig. We were so happy to see you in such great form and fine voice (we weren’t afraid of the frogs) and enjoyed every minute of the concert. Thank you very much for another incredible and memorable experience! My favourites were January Man, Gortatagort (of course), They Never Came Home and Tippin’ it up to Nancy, just terrific your bodhran duet together with Jimmy. Also many thanks to Maírtín O’Connor Band for their brilliant accompaniment – what a sound at Farmer Micheal Hayes, Back Home in Derry … !
Your music still resounds in our ears. Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat, Traudel + Horst

Great to see you back on form again… when I called out for “they Never Came Home” I was not let down… you came up trumps.. it was also nice to see you pay a tribute to the other four young girls who never made it home last week … it was a very kind gesture the way you sang that beautiful lament which you had written some years ago for another girl who lost her life.
long life of health and happiness to you and yours…. Ride on!
