Dear Christy,
That programme “Shine Your Light” was fantastic, we watched it on RTE Player on the very day. Thank you for leading us into the Winter Solstice with your magnificent song Reel in the Flickering Light!!! Hope we’ll get some more light soon – plenty of sunshine already here today. Lovely that you could meet up with Mick and Johnny again.
Happy Christmas to you and yours,
Traudel & Horst
Hi Christy and all. Been trying to think of something poetic or meaningful to sum up this year, but it’s beyond me!
So can I send genuine good wishes to you all, have loved this guestbook.
And of course the continual joy and support your music brings.
Hope you all have the best Christmas possible 🎄Pam
Wishing a good Christmas and New Year Christy to you and your whole extended family, including many wonderful people whom I have ‘met’ on this guestbook. I look forward to the day when we can meet up, maybe dance a reel in the flickering light somewhere.
From Rory’s greeting, I’m guessing that the Hawick bunker will have a similar playlist to here… A cold start, but warming via tea, Kirsty,Shane and a ‘right good’ pick of Early Years.
Sending festive greetings to you and companeros, near and far – keep well, all.
Dave

Just a few lines to
say the early years collection is another musical masterpiece. Those early songs are suberb. This time of the year we would be planning for Vicar St.However we will hopefully have it in 2021.The interview with Miriam o Callaghan was also superb.Enough said Christy.I hope you and Val have a happy and peaceful christmas.Ihad a few words with the brother in Monks Lane on Sunday last.A pity it has to close again .Let the music keep our spirits high.

Sound Timoleague…..sad to read of the passing of Tim Severin…I spotted you on youtube at a John Spillane gig in De Barras or maybe you have a double…
Hi Christy! I just want to wish you a Merry Christmas & a Happy! New Year. You are my alltime favorite singer. About 20 years ago i met a young scottish opera singer and she also agreed with me. My wife and i have enjoyed your performances over the years in Germany and a very special night in 1996 at Tonder Folk Festival. So keep on singing and keep safe in these troubled times.

Hello Christy,
I love that line
The rats and the worms were still as mice
And the poor old pigeon said, *that’s nice*
In your NCH livestream there was a thing you did on the guitar while saying, *I’ve got this going. I’ve no idea what it’s going to be.*. I thought it sounded beautifully fluent.
Brilliant to have a close up of a famous Tak – looking and sounding great – terrific for both of you to visit RTE.
I’m with you about Christmas tv… I reckon TG4 archives and BBC 4, should lead to good docs and avoid Bruce and Brown.
Bill Leader is 91 on 26/12 – after ‘Prosperous’,for quite awhile, I probably bought more Leader/Trailer LPs than any other label. There don’r seem to be any specific websites for Bill’s releases, but if your name/ others are put in the search box at http://www.mustrad.org a quick visit shows quite a few rabbit holes to explore…
Have a good day

I took to the Mustrad Dave….I had to ferret myself away after 2 hours
Hitting the sack and thinking of stranded truckers a long way from home and family Christmas…I finished the day in the flickering light (thanks for the link, Rebecca)- lovely version/nicely staged – is it an Atkin sounding so good?

I didn’t know how to contact Rory, so I hope you are ok with this, Rory. The words aren’t completely accurate, it all happened pretty quickly.
