I just wanted to tell you about a music festival that I am involved in organising on August 26th/27th 2017, It will be on in Eileens pub in Kilcrohane. I know you know the area well. I am working with a landscape gardener who is developing Eileens garden in aid of the Lauralynn foundation. He is doing all the work free of charge and with the help of sponsorship. We are hoping to line up musicians from 2pm on the Saturday 26th and all day Sunday 27th as well as entertainment for kids in the afternoon. All proceeds will go in memory of Laura and Lynn and the garden will be used for local events going forward and all donations will be given to LauraLynn. We have a Facebook page just set up called the Lauralynn butterfly memorial Garden. It promises to be a great weekend and if you are around we would be delighted if you dropped in to us
Best Wishes

Thank you for your invitation…wont be able to join your event due to prior commitment..hope it all goes well
How about scheduling a concert in Edinburgh on September 19th or 20th? We would love to hear you in concert but it never coincides with our trips to Ireland when we are in the planning stage. Guess I will just have to enjoy your CD’s!

Morning Christy.
Not long in the door from o connor park in tullamore and so proud of the way we played. Doctor O Neill is truly working his wisdom with this team and success isn’t far away.
Roll on the 16th of July and hopefully we all be singing the lilies in the Shortgass and we are coming home again..
Just reading a post of yours about the barracks and the memories that it brings back. My grandparents lived over there and spent many a day knocking at some of them doors and running away.. never forgot the day Mr Dillon caught me!! And the days watching a match from the veranda where the bathes and wickhams lived with free Nicky Kelly on the gaa pitch wall.. All good times..
Been listening to Damien Dempseys new album the last week and his written ability is truly remarkable. Doesn’t get half the credit as he should.
Right better the get the runners on and go up to the curragh and walk in some sheep shite with the kids..
See ya in croker

I thought it was a good game…we have a fine young team there, a great spine running thru with Eoin Doyle, O”Grady, keeper Donnellan, great Midfield, (best fielding I’ve seen from any team this year) and Flynn is a class act….heres hoping they continue to develop..I’ll have the white shirt ironed for the Leinster Final (against Westmeath!)
Mr Moore. My self and my young lad travelled to New Ross for the Thurs gig.
Ive seen you many times now, but Jasus that was the best ive seen. So relaxed and the venue perfect. My son was in fits of laughter watching you amuse the crowds. I can assure you that you have Charmed a new fan. Alfie Coyne 9 Yrs old.
Thanks Christy a true Gentleman .

A lovely venue too…the grub was the best in it too…
Thank you for the gigs.

Hi Christy, good man: what a wonderful gig tonight here in New Ross, the intimate atmosphere of St. Michael’s Theatre, so many songs old & new, and that you sang the “Ordinary Man” made it even more special for me. My wife and daughter particularly enjoyed ” The Voyage” which you also sang for us in Bundoran two years ago… A man, a voice, a guitar – it was like the first time I heard you in Düsseldorf, way back in 1995 I believe it was. A night back to the roots! Thank you so much.
Christy's reply
You are very welcome Dietmar….it was a lovely night…the songs just seemed to flow as the audience carried me along…location always colours the imagery invoked when singing a song, that was particulary evident (for me) last night….bright vivid pictures accompanied “Patrick Murphy”, “Gortatagort”, “Allende”, “Time has Come”…. then out of the blue arrived ” Hey Ronnie Reagan” unplanned and unexpected, only partially remembered,
after I sang “Tyrone Boys” I remembered the late Eileen Flynn and offered a retrospective dedication…ironic that her memory came in a ‘de-concecrated’ catholic church…
its been a long time since I last visited Germany…thanks for your feedback…
Thank you very much for a great show in New Ross 15/6/17, it meant a lot to come and watch you play, we are living in Australia now and where home in Dublin for three weeks and had to come down to the show. Thank you again.
Christy's reply
well done Caitlín, thanks for making the trip down to The Model County..we had lots of long haul listeners in that room tonight, Manchester, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Chile and Mick Dwyer who travelled all the way from The Marble City..home of The Black & Amber…safe journey back to The Black Lagoon
Hi Christy,
Hope all is well. I was listening to one of my all time favourites today, LIAM WELDON and wondered what memories you may have of him? His voice and delivery never fails to stir me..Trevor

One of the great voices…sadly missed…I still hear his wife, Nellie Weldon, sing at song circles around the City.

I don’t want to send you on a wild goose chase re Thomas Fitzsimmons but the great staff at the Solstice Arts Centre ( or the good people of Navan ) might be able to help . My ticket was X10 on Saturday night so i would imagine his was X11.
Exciting birthday time ahead Dolphins and Whales at Skibbereen on Monday and then onto Mizen Head , Ring of Beara , Youghal and Dingle . Luka at De Barras plus Jackson Browne , Susan Calman and the excellent Darlingside at The Union Chapel . Somebody must love me !! The sun is shining and life is very rich and rewarding .
In contrast there is the unbelievable events in North Kensington where i have spent a lot of time over the last fortnight . Another fire with little hope of the real instigators ever being prosecuted and it happened in the wealthiest borough in the UK.

huge difference too in the production when Donal Lunny came in worked track 12 with me…
did an Irish tour with the band on this album accompanied by Andy irvine, Barry Moore, Gabriel McKeon, Noel Hill, Tony Linnane and the late Jimmy Faulkner.. we rehearsed in Coolcullen, Co Carlow and did a wild tour before recording…I recall playing in

El Ruedo, Carlow………
I see some great chat here re: a great song, ‘The Song is Burning’, a song from The Iron Behind The Velvet,it’s sentiment and lyrics still evocative as a few loose cannons roll around the wooden floors of the White House. Also contributor Ger threw in a funny piece about the whole festival scene from the 70s onwards, oh dont you love the story about the tank – oh gawd! But the not by-lined piece omits the great Ballisodare Folk Festival. (The Indo appears to have commenced a ‘mini-cottage industry’ of people writing about festivals)

maybe someday someone will write a behind the scenes history of The Carnsore Festivals….they were momentous times for the collective involved…
