Ah I completely understand that Christy! Im appreciative that you’ve taken the time to reply. It’s a great complaint that you’re selling out so quick!! We’ll keep trying, and we’ll let you know when we get to one of your gigs. Jaysis you’re nail on the head with those names! You’re some man! Hon the moores 🟢⚪

Johnjoe Murrays granddaughter, It’s me again, and I want to ask a favour as I’m sure a lot of people do! I want to bring a lot of the Murrays to a concert of yours! We try and get tickets every yeah but obviously as you’re sold out within minutes it’s very hard to come by. There’s 13 of us that I want to bring before times change.
I know it’s an awful lot to ask, so I completely understand if it’s not a possibility. You’ve already written out Moorefield and sent it to my brother and we’re very appreciative, we’ve asked for a lot. Thanks for everything over the years! We are always so proud to hear you singing and that you’re doing Kildare proud and that Johnjoe was happy to have known you you! Thanks again,
Eliza
Christy's reply
Hi Eliza ….I’m not involved myself with the ticketing…takes me all my time to be fit and ready to do the singing. !!!…I’ll pass your query on to the promoter….I know some tickets seem to go rapidly but, as far I know… the Kilashee tickets were available for a few weeks before being taken up…. I hope something works out for you….very best to all the Murray clan…. ( if my memory is right….Lysaght’s, Doherty’s, McBride’s,Lacy’s and others too I’m sure))
Hi. I came across this earlier, a clip of Jimmy Mac Carthy being recognised by IMRO & singing Ride On https://youtu.be/ckEwDHqOvMw?si=G9rFZ4fyXxikOVBZ The late Mandy Murphy sings backing vocals, as she did on both The Time has Come and BT albums, it’s hard to believe that BT was released in 2006 !! Le gach dea ghui, beir bua agus beannacht. H
Christy's reply
I invited Mandy Murphy to sing harmonies on “The Time Has Come” back in 1986. Mandy was the finest harmony singer, beautiful voice , natural harmonies…..
She arrived into the studio with Jimmy MacCarty….afterwards he sang “Ride On” in the green room..what a song!….next time we met he sang “Missing You” to me….next time he sang “The Contender.”…it has been an ongoing privilege to sing the songs of Jimmy Mack
Hi Christy,
Having travelled the land looking for justice i reflect that this time of year can be even worse than ‘normal’ for domestic abuse, and so i am playing ‘a stitch in time’ a great anthem for the worm that turns against the alcohol fuelled fist. Rory

Hi Christy,
Been a while, so I hope this finds you and Valerie well.
Having extracted myself from the inevitable madness the season brings, I’m sittin’ here now relaxed in the dulcet tones of “A Terrible Beauty” excellent !
I would just like to wish you and Valerie a very Merry Christmas, and hope that 2026 delivers on all your wishes !
Good Luck,
Sam
These years are flying by, especially for us folk, blues, ballad and trad fans. Hopefully we’ll live to do it all again in 2026. Have a good one all.

Fair play to Moeke for pure humanity…and reviving memories of the Andy Williams show…spot on about a previous life ..

Hi Christy,
In a previous life we watched weekly the Andy Williams show. He always ended his show with the song “may each day of the week be a good day”:
Now, as 2026 is arriving, i’ll sing (uh?,,sing??…me???) I’ll say
“May each day of the year be a good day” for you, your beloved ones and all the people of the guestbook. And a warm Christmas too.

Howdy all:
Bob Dylan enthralled me since I was 13 YO.
I become consumed with his every word & was a Dylan tragic.
With millions of us doing this no wonder he freaked out & tried to balance his “normality” with his Showbiz personas..only years later I grew to understand his dilemma
I don’t always agree with his direction – god bothering and all – but he’s a rare one & a smart one & a talented one .shamelessly smitten with the man’s work I am..
Anyway, I’ll get in oirly: merry Xmas , happy new year & I wish safety, peace & fulfilment to all you good people. & of course thanks to Christy for the strings & strands which lift us up, bind our wounds & warm our hearts & souls.
Love is all.❤️

Another bit of Dylan trivia. Went home to Ireland for my brother’s funeral a couple of weeks ago, and his darling daughter had chosen Bob’s ‘Like a Rolling Stone’ as the song to accompany him out the door of the chapel and along to the graveyard. A perfect fit to our fella’s life!
John L’pool got a bit of sympathy for you. I attended two Bob gigs here in Germany in the past year. I’ve no problem with the setlist, and unique interpretations, but a bit of light on the stage would enable me to say I actually SAW Bob in concert, twice!
Hello Christy,
Please can I wish you, yours and everybody here a very happy Christmas.
“…when the fairy sang the whole world listened to him. Stephen felt clouds pause in their passing; he felt sleeping hills shift and murmur; he felt cold mists dance. He understood for the first time that the world is not dumb at all, but merely waiting for someone to speak to it in a language it understands. In the fairy’s song the earth recognized the names by which it called itself.”
