Happy birthday, Christy.
Mine is next week.
Strange our birthdays are in the same month, yours first, and our wedding days were in the same month and year, yours first again.
We’ve lived through the best of times on the whole but present circumstances in th is world are dire.
Keep reminding us all of the good times as well as the tragic.
Life, was so much simpler in the 60s and 70s.
Hope to see you again in the autumn.
Good morning Christy and a Belated Happy Birthday to you! I’m a long term fan and have been to many of your gigs over the past twenty plus years usually in the company of my brother who is an even bigger fan! My daughter Molly (9) is also a huge fan and will be attending her very first Christy Gig with me in August at Wexford Opera House. She asked me yesterday if I knew who’s birthday it was. I said I didn’t. She told me it was yours. She asked if I knew what age you were. I said I didn’t. She proceeded to tell me that I couldn’t be a real Christy Moore fan in that case. I asked her how she knew that it was your Big Birthday and she told me that all real fans would know that ‘from The Song’…!!
Looking forward to our first gig together, and if you happen to think of it some of her favourites are Beeswing and Down the Black and Ember!
Best wishes,
Gillian King.
Fair play to the Beeb radio….a messy show, but well intentioned…several gems by you and Planxty…a few emails from fans read out. I was surprised to hear my ramblings re 1970s,another guy’s re MSG days….
There was a smart link, saying that today marks the end ofWW2 and playing your ‘Yellow Triangle’…it never sounded more haunting. Fab that Andy was mentioned too…’Boy in the wild’…wow..
Enjoy remaining celebrations with nearest and dearest

Hi Christy
In a sunny city centre…loads of Bilbao fans exploring Manchester before heading to Old Trafford….
Thinking of Basque repression in 1930s…later,the power of your song…
Music keeping spirits high…
