Glad to see yer back on track, gerrup! I’ll be doing a show in the Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray on the 20th Feb. There’ll be 3 acts, myself & Ye Vagabonds are confirmed thus far. If you’d like to attend, drop me an email & I’ll get tickets to you. It’s not much, but I don’t get a chance to return favours much, so I’ll offer while I can anyways. I’m sure you’ll be doing other things, if so, the offer is open to anyone who you think might be interested, cheers Christy http://www.mermaidartscentre.ie/events/details/new-frontiers-of-folk?fb_action_ids=1592307240990877&fb_action_types=og.likes
For the day that’s in it …several years ago, while doling out the dinner, I was explaining the meaning of Nollaig na mBan to the son. (bad timing) Says he, “That idea really took off, obviously.” He nearly got the spuds over his head.
I know your Christmas can’t have been the greatest with your sickness, Christy, but I hope you’re felling better and are ready for the road again.
Hope you are well again. Sorry that you had to cancel the Castlebar show.
Im living in the USA and booked to see the show while home for Christmas. Got word by email that it was cancelled so didnt travel to Castlebar to collect the tickets. Wasted all my call credit on theTicketmaster phone line listening to music, trying to get a refund. No reply possible to their email notification and NO customer service email address.
They make it very difficult to get a refund, in my mind, deliberately.
Back in AMerica now and, having the experience of listening to their phone music, Im not prepared to now make international calls to get my money back. Would NEVER use Ticketmaster again. Sharp practice merchants.
Christy's reply
Your problem will be sorted.Your complaint is valid. We will make contact and your money will be refunded. Ticketmaster showed up at all 4 Postponed Dublin gigs. They also helped get the word out very efficiently to thousands of listeners when the gigs were pulled. I understand your frustration. I had to postpone 5 gigs in all. My colleague Paddy Doherty was at each of the venues on the 5 gig nights along with the promoters and Ticket Master (who were at the 4 cancelled gigs in Dublin).I have had dealings with this agency for many years. If they were “sharp practice merchants” who ” deliberately made it difficult to get refunds” I would not be dealing with them.
I doubt you yourself Christy will see this but if you happen to and i hope you do, i would like to ask you to help us with the water charge campaign. I have nothing planned or no suggestions, i wanted to ask first and i’m probably pissing against the wind but if you happen to see this or hear about it and have any interest please let me know. I’m not band wagon jumper, i do love your music and i have been to see you (thanks by the way), so when i saw you had done a gig for the children of Gaza which was a excellent thing to do and well done, i thought you might also have an interest in our own politics here in Ireland. This is the only way i can seem to contact you, i hope you see it and please let me know if your interested. Sarah Daly- Clane says No.
Dear Christy, I’m back in Doha now with a half dose of the DT’s after a great xmas at home in Tipp. one thing I didn’t forget to bring back was my Christy Moore CD collection ! So you’ll be singing loud and clear every time I’m driving here from now on, and you’ll definitely come in handy when the Muslim prayer time comes on the radio (every other minute of the day !). So don’t be surprised if one of the Sheikh’s comes looking for ya to do a gig over here in the future !! Have a habit of belting out a few of your tunes (after a few scoops) and even tried to put a few lyrics together in an effort to escape the tough life of working in construction every day. I hope you get well soon Christy and that you’ll be back gigging before long. Thanks a lot for the music and your a legend !
dear christy, it is exactly five years ago that I saw you the last time in dublin, I called for “january man” and you played it. This summer I will be able to visit Eire again – is there another concert to be added in july after cork on the 4th?
please do take your time for recovery, we are not young any more.
warm greets klaus

Hi Christie,
I picked you from Bristol airport around 20 years ago and took you to the wool hall studio near Bath, you may remember.
I just wondered when you arrive to play in Bristol in May would you do me the honour of using my taxi free of charge ( I mean it) for your transportation, to or from the airport, or any other destination. It would be a privilege.
Get me on 07770887217
All the very best to you and I’m still loving your music.
Graham

Sorry to read you’re not quite 100% yet, but glad that you’re giving yourself time to recover properly. These things can’t be rushed, much as we’d love to, and your health is the most important thing you have. Keep listening to the doctors and hopefully you’ll be back alongside Dr Sinnott soon – all best wishes and prayers heading your way.
Great to hear that you have recovered.
