Hello Christy,
I really get what, Theresa said about Live at the Point. It was the first of your albums that Steve bought. It was played on repeat for days.
Rugby and making Christmas cakes today.

I thoroughly enjoyed making that album….. it was the first time I experience mixing music visually..( looking at a digital screen)
the album was gleaned from many nights at the Point that had been recorded in previous years..
Mornin’ Christy
A great start to the day via RTE player/LLS… that’s a gem of a piece with yourself. So much attention to detail by RTE, with stage set/sound absolutely dead on… you and Ryan chatting – so inclusive for everyone.Masterful in every way and a wonderful viewing/ listening experience (David Rooney’s art looks stunning)…’December 1942′ is something else…I can see why you wrestled with it, before finding its’ core…you more than do it justice. As ever – fair play to you.
Thanks
Dave

I’ve copied your remarks to Ryan Tubridy and the Producer of that Show….
glad your back in Suffragette City safe and sound
I just saw you receiving your lifetime achievement award on RTE, nobody deserved it more than you. I wanted to wish you a huge congratulations!
I would also like to tell you a little story. I have been a huge fan of yours since the Summer of 1994, when I was the grand age of 11! I am 38 now. I am from Youghal Co Cork originally, my Daddy was a truck driver and he was your biggest fan. He was amazing! Anyway, he took me off to Spain in the truck with him that Summer of 94. Me coming from a council estate had never been anywhere, I was the proudest girl in the world heading off in the truck with my Daddy. He used have a big box of tapes that he’d bring with him bit he forgot them so all we had for 14 days and 14 nights was Christy Moore Live at the Point. I came home fluent in the that album. When I sing all the songs to the this day I still put all the words you said in between the songs in. My Daddy died when I was 13 so by God I treasured that tape with my life. I’ll never forget the two of us driving along the roads in Spain singing along at the top of our lungs!
I have suffered an awful lot in my life with my mental health and I’ve had many a sleepless night, your music was with me the whole way along. There isn’t a song you have sing that I don’t know. My memory is very bad and people slag me and ask me why I can’t remember anything when I remember all the words to Christy Moore songs haha. I’m a single Mammy now, Dan just turned 8 I called him after my Daddy. He goes into school singing Don’t forget your shovel. My friends say the night isn’t over until Theresa sings Joxer :). You have been with me through it all the good the bad the ugly and the wonderful. I listen to your songs every day of my life and I will never ever tire of singing along, from Johnny jump up to Hey Ronnie Reagan to one of my faves Beeswing. From the bottom of my heart thank you so so much for the music and for keeping me company all through the years. All my love Theresa xx
Christy's reply
Hey Theresa…thank you for sharing your story so generously….I can relate to much of what you have shared…losing your dad at such a young age…wonderful that you have such positive memories of the good man..that trip to Spain sitting high up in the cab …I’m very happy that the songs were part of your journey..best wishes to you and Young Dan…let the music keep your spirits high
I was away from music systems for a few days and returned to the great sight of ‘Flying into mystery’…I’m now immersed in wonderful music and catching up on the buzz here.
I’ve been really looking forward to this album via comments here /knowing the graft you put in via lockdown and Atkins heating the workroom.
What a superb LP you’ve produced…tied in with David Rooney’s wonderful cover art (and youtube). The cover draws me in and I’m hooked by the sounds. Jeez, Christy, you’re sounding better than ever…and what fine companeros in the gallant company. Wonderful track sequencing too…some lovely subtleties in there – I’ve a big daft grin hearing the overdubbed vocals on ‘Van Diemen’s Land’- sounding like many’s a folk club as an audience enters the fray…
I’m going to relish working through the layers of song – there’ll be ramblings here for years… lovely to finish with the stripped down ‘Immigrant’…a highlight of the lockdown sessions and a Bridgewater gig back in time…
Well played, sir
Dave

I’ve placed my copy of “Flying into Mystery” up on the shelf with its predecessors…it always feels like an act of completion..now I’m getting back to the real job…focusing on next Wednesdays gig at Vicar St Dublin ***….Time alone will decide what songs from “Flying” will make it into the live set…I’ll be gently testing the waters..
*** must admit, the day after release I did get an idea for an album !!!
I’ve known yiu, Christy, for more than half a century. You generously answered a few questions for me recently for a piece on the new album (https://www.salutlive.com/2021/11/christy-moore-clock-winds-down.html) and even more generously – as a Leeds supporter – wished my team Sunderland well. We won today so your good wishes may be working

Hello Christy,
Now that I’ve worked out how to watch rte player, there’s no stopping me.
December 1942 passed through pure and clean, bought to life by breath and untouched by anything other than itself. So strong.
Rawmaishing is a lovely word. Not a bit of it.
