Well done Christy – really enjoyed the gig and well done to Andy too. Some great new songs – must of been difficult to sing December 1942 but Jimmy McCarthy’s follow up was perfect. Loved ‘Back Home In Derry’ and many more. Fair play to you for playing to an empty house as I know you love the audience participation and well done again. Stay safe and best wishes to you and yours
I trawled the entire repertoire to find a song that could follow Ricky Lynch’s “December 1942″…..only one could fit the bill….Jimmy MacCarthy’s “Bright Blue Rose”……and both of them from The Republic of Cork !
Christy, thanks so much for your online gig at the National Concert Hall this evening (it was an afternoon concert here in the eastern US). I’ve made many trips to Ireland, but only one coincided with your doing a concert in Dublin. In July 2014 I attended the Joyce summer school at Newman House on Stephen’s Green, and on the final night they held a dinner for us. Between the meal and the speeches, I slipped out to the ladies’ room, and while washing my hands, a very familiar voice (yours!) drifted in over the back wall. I had wanted to see you in person for years — and then there you were, singing away in the Iveagh Gardens.
What to do — return and listen to a succession of scholars drone on? Or open the window, perch on the sill, and enjoy your music? Wisely, I chose the latter, and it proved the better choice by far; I couldn’t see the stage, but I could hear you loud and clear. And for free! I still hope to see you in person one of these
days, and I promise to buy a ticket next time! Stay safe and well, Christy. You’re a national treasure.
Love says Bloom!
I mean the opposite of hatred…
hope I got that right Kathy….
I recall that night in Lord Iveagh’s Garden….I love your story
I’m reminded of Frank Patterson singing “Lass of Aughrim” in “The Dead”….it slays me every time….and my old Pal Donal McCann looking up from the hall
Great online gig, Christy. So many new songs and good to see you duo with your son.
Loved the Tom Tuohy song in particular.
Had an evening appointment for my 2nd jab and then dashed home to watch the gig 🙂
My WiFi signal has improved with the second Jab
We fully enjoyed the concert tonight. Thank you. Amazing how you managed to connect even without the audience in the room. We enjoyed the new songs as well as the known ones like Bright Blue Rose and the new twists to some of your own songs. The honest and heartfelt performance came across beautifully.
Thank You Mark….
hope Rembrandt is still hangin in The Rijk
Thank you Christy, it was wonderful tonight. To see and hear you live performing is great!
Hopefully we are able to see you on stage in Hamburg……

Nice one, Christy, and thanks for the treat (to us). I was respectfully quiet when required, applauded at the right times and sang in the right places.
Brendan Voyage … oh my, that’s why my satnav’s called Brenda.
Safe home to all who were away from home this evening xx

See ye soon in real world x
Thanks for the show tonight Christy. It’s been a tough and somewhat lonely 12 months but your shows have been a tonic. Ride on. Hopefully a live show in the flesh isn’t too far away. Thanks and stay safe. Tommy
in Tipperary so far away
Been a few years since I’ve been able to see you last Christy and boy you don’t disappoint. Tickets to watch you this evening are an early 25th birthday present and I can honestly say I need no further presents. You have an uncanny ability to lift my spirits in what has been a very strange year. Have my fingers crossed for hearing The Voyage later this evening. I am however singing along with a massive smile on my face. Counting down till I can attend an actual concert to see you. All the best Zee xx
