I’m sharing again Christy. If you are not in the mood nor interested. I am of course ok with that and my apologies, God is Love in my view. For you or for anyone else that might be interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4i1kN-XZ6AA
Hi Christy, Haven’t posted for a while, because I haven’t really had anything to contribute (no musical talent) been a fan of yours since Planxty days and I enjoy reading the guestbook and most of the links!
But was moved to write because of your comments to Rebeccah, really inspiring.
Came at the right time for me, I’ve 2 baby granddaughters who’ve both been quite poorly with covid symptoms, fortunately on the mend but been a worrying time. And my old dog was found to have a cancer, had a big op which hopefully will give me another 12 months with her. Anyone out there with a working prayer list – say one for Daphne dog.
Wasn’t able to stream your concert, own up, I didn’t know how to do it!! But hopefully can buy it in the future, look forward to your new album.
So going to take what today brings, thank god for you and your music. Pam
Christy's reply
Hey Pam,
you are not alone, I’ve not seen it yet myself….I find it much easier to do the gig then to navigate my device into the recording…I will have a gentle prayer with God Dog that Daphne may fully recover…..Its 27 years since our last Dog Gypsy died in my arms at the vets….betimes I still miss her….
Hi Christy,
I was looking on youtube for concert footage of great gigs I’ve seen over the years and found this. I thought you might enjoy Natalie Merchant (I know you like her) singing one of my favorite anti-war songs. https://youtu.be/P1pcceOslzo
I hope all is well. Brilliant show last week!

Hello Christy,
So it was the Grove again last night. All different. We were inside because of the rain. 20 allowed in the room and I was number 21. But by 5 to 9 some people hadn’t turned up yet, so I went on second. I said “Hi” to Michael Dailey from you. Everyone calls him Arthur. He looked like he’d been struck by lightening. You made a very big splash 😊. I sang Spancil Hill and Lullaby of London, just two as he was trying to fit everybody in. I need to keep at this. Next week it’s table service, wall to wall masks and an early finish. I’m just grateful it’s still running.
This whole thing is getting weird now. I hope you’re doing ok.
Rebecca
Christy's reply
Sure is weird…but there are good people all around doing their very best to keep society functioning…nurses, doctors, and all the frontline -back-up-services, our bin collecors, sincere politicians, foodstore operatives, farmers, food precessors, transporters on and on this list could roll call… good people trying to keep their doors open….across the wire we have those forces of negativity screaming their hate and bile at us…fascists hiding behind their masks as they urge us not to wear ours, beat us with iron bars, spout about fake science as coffins are laid…its hard to keep up with it all… we have Johnson and Trump clones here too but, thankfully, they are not in power…
Today is the only day we got…today I’m gonna try and do the right thing whatever that proves to be..thats the best any of us can do…
Well done for making it to The Grove last night…I remember it from way back,..over 50 years ago
Hey ya Christy Moore dude.
James Taylor has a You Tube channel now for those who like the dude.
Here is my little bit of a shout out to James Taylor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37jtlTx2IJk&t=773s
Well Christy, you did it again, you made our night!!! You must have heard the roar that went up when you gave us a mention! The crowd was hushed when you started, ‘and speaking of Cork…’ and the excitement grew from there. Great concert as always and the stories were as good as the music. Can’t wait for the next one…

You are very gracious with your replies and I wanted to acknowledge that and say thank you. That you put “Johnny Fay” and “Ruth Bader Ginsburg” in the same sentence was enough to make my heart burst. It meant the world to me, thanks a million. I’m inspired by your reply to Owen below in which you say that you hope to stream more gigs, this is very welcome news to many of us who are missing you and would give all for the price of a flight (not that some of us can get on one right now). I hope, if that is possibly going to happen, that it means that YOU enjoyed the experience or got something from it. It’s very very obvious on this page just how much it means to many of us that wouldn’t get as many chances (in regular times) to get to see you as much as we would like.
It’s a no brainer that we would all love to hear you again but I wondered how the experience was for YOU and I hope this page works in lieu of applause or the craic or the magical atmosphere that can happen at a Christy Moore gig. The alchemy of you and an audience has always been a big part of it for me. I saw you years ago in Union Chapel in London and it wasn’t lost on me that it in the words of Hozier I was literally being taken to Church. It was sacred. I flew from Switzerland that time just to see you and I’ll never forget it. You happened to sing The Reel in the Flickering Light that night, I was sitting next to Johnny Fay, I remember it as one of the most perfect moments I had ever experienced. It was a magical.
I hope not too much was lost for you and I also hope you know how grateful we all are, how needed it was, how much we appreciate and enjoy hearing you in any format our current crazy world will allow. Stream on Christy….thank you for your generosity as a performer allowing us to hear you again and here on this page – making US feel heard too. You mean a lot to many……as always……with Gratitude…..Fiona in Ft Laud…..

Hi Christy. Please may a long-haul listener ask for some help?
Long story short: hypermobile, right handed flutie dislocates left thumb. Tendons overstretch; thumb joint can’t support flute enough to close the holes. Hand becomes steadily weaker until even the low whistle fails.
Successful op nearly 3 years ago reinvents thumb so much that at first, I can’t even work out how to hold the flute. No quick fix this, then.
Then I was ill for 2 months, just as the invitations to summer school went out, but I knew I wouldn’t be going. And it left me on the cusp of giving up music completely.
As it still does.I’m at the foot of Mount Everest; An Feochan is at the top and I have no sherpa. Never have had. But long distance pals persuaded me to book my first summer school place for 3 years – flute or no flute – only to have covid wipe it out. So back to square one.
Then came your livestream gig and your energy filled me. Gigs always do. I came away wanting to play again – only I’m still alone at the foot of the mountain, a busy Nana with a non-musical family who need my input.
When you were ill, I remember writing to you, just to say “I’ve got your back”. I’ve read your book; I know you’ve struggled at times over the years and full credit to you for how far you’ve come.
Please may I now turn to you for some encouragement? In an ideal world, I’d have a musical pal to regularly nag me or pat me on the back. If I were to post my progress/lack of it on your guest book regularly, would you be willing to be that pal?

Hello Christy,
It used to be all League in this house and then Union took over. The wonderful rhythm of the game drew me in and I love the way it depends on the weather. I like the forward game, so rain is good for me. Nothing like a good arm wrestle.
I went to a girls’ school, so we had to play hockey. They thought that letting a load of girls loose with a wooden club each was a good idea.. Apart from that, I spent most of my time in a cupboard full of drums and a piano, at the back of the music room.
I hope that letter to the government about people working in the arts has an impact.

re ‘Paddy on the road’ availability…I’ve seen it online, mainly on a well known ‘jungle’ site, but that location doesn’t appeal to everyone’s ethics… I’ve seen it elsewhere,so I’d suggest putting the title into the computer search engine and hope it shows up in a few places. Then, for the keen listener – ‘you pays your money, you takes your choice’…
I’m dusting the Epiphone off,so will have a go at the ‘Duffy’s Cut’chords later- been meaning to have a go at it for ages… a mighty song, indeed.

I found out too late about your weekend concert – I’ll gladly buy it if it becomes available. But it did lead me to the Lockdown Sessions and I’m ever-grateful it did. Thank you. And thank Andy. True healing for us out here in the misery of smoke-filled California. Our boy sat riveted listening.
If you do another session, I humbly ask if you’d consider “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”. Your version was our wedding song in 1996.
Be well, stay healthy and ride on.

Thank you so much for the beautiful music you shared with us last weekend. On our travels to Ireland I have tried to see you many times, only to reach sold out shows, or not in the county we were in, at that time.
Over the years, we’ve hoped you’d come to the US and we would have travelled anywhere here to see you.
I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer, and the fact that I got to see you play this past weekend, brought tears to my eyes, as it may be the only chance I get to be a part of such a wonderful experience.
Again, thank you for all your efforts, and your music and words, mean so much to me. Stay safe and Shine On!
Christy's reply
Sorry to read of your recent diagnosis, thank you for sharing, I hope you have a good day today, that treatments take a positive course,,,

Dear Christy,
thank you very much for the wonderful music, streamed live from NCH on september 19th.
Missed your concerts very much, especially during the Corona-Pandemia, which unfortunately stopped us from travelling to Ireland again to see one of your shows.
