Dear Christy,
Happy Birthday and all the best for the years to come. May “the music keep your spirits high” (hope I’m allowed to reciprocate your good wishes 😉 ) and you’ll be able to enjoy many, many concerts throughout Europe. Ride on!

I dont know if I ever told you I suffer from the worst claustrophobia in the world. When I went into secondary school I went from a class of 4 to 30 people.I passed out the first day with claustrophobic fright.
Last Friday there was a session in this house and I went to the “other” bathroom in “the chalet” . What ever heckin way I managed to close the door ….It just wouldn’t open again. I could hear the “Bucks of Oranmore” and “Lucy Campbels “in full swing drowning out my pleas and banging for help! Hallucinating see dancing soap and trying to think of a way to throw bog roll out the tiny window to get the attention of some passing tourists (on route to Aran).
Finally after an hour or so someone noted the bouzouki player was missing in action and my mother found me covered in sweat in a fierce state of Delirium tremenss .. I was withdrawing from freedom to move.
But you know what …I might make a song of it yet.
The cuckoo always lands for your Birthday and she reminded me to say Happy Birthday to yah.
Just want to say have a grand day tomorrow.
Lá breithe shona dhuit a mhac bán.
Thank you for always being so kind CM .
Go maire tú an céad agus níos faide le cunamh Dé .

Lovely to hear of magic nights in Belfast..I’ll be at a gig soon. Hope ok to share news here of an upcoming gig, as we have Paddy Casey live in The Old Punchbowl in Booterstown as part of the Seaview Sessions. He will be joined by his daughter Saoirse , and she is an amazing talent also. Thursday 23rd of May..thanks CM..larball x https://www.ticketweb.ie/event/paddy-casey-live-at-the-the-seaview-sessions-tickets/9357065
hi Christy,
to make the morning paperwork disappear more easily i stuck on Declan’s gorgeous album ‘I love the noise it makes’. It got me wondering whether another Declan tune might get slipped into the set sometime , Billy Gray has had an outing or two of course.
Anyway my wee daughter Flora and i are looking forward to 25th in Londinium, she lives down there and i find it is such a hectic place that it is always necessary to cool down with a wee gig ,and what better gig than yours for this trip. So whether we hear Dec, the Edinburgh set, Giuseppe or none of the above it will still be the perfect antidote to the hot air of the tube or the millions looking at their shoes or phones instead of smiling at their fellow beings.
go well Christy.

Ronan here. Thanks for playing my request on Friday night. It was a great surprise. My Dad hadn’t said anything. It was really kind of you to send down the plectrum.
It was a brilliant night. You’re the best Christy. 🙌🏻
Hope you’re getting a bit of rest Christy after the great gigs in Belfast, just checking to see if you have had a chance to check out the “awaiting moderation” response to the comment I posted along with the tunes to two ballads. And were you able to see the tunes and the ballads? All the best..
Maidin mhaith a Christy, this morning I’ve been pondering your note that said you were ‘pondering on a fitting spot prize ‘…for Usain Bolt of the Bog Meadow lol!’ Pondering led me to run down some interesting tracks…I looked up ruminating/chewing the cud and now know a little bit about a cow’s digestive system. I came across a picture of you being searched in Ballyfermot by a special branch officer. This led me to read an interview that you did with ‘Come Here To Me.’ Then on to Amazon to buy a copy of One Voice. My son Stephen and his girlfriend Maggie are running in the marathon, he clearly takes after me, today. This is another milestone in the story of the wee six – the first one to be held on the Sabbath. Free Presbyterian ministers picketed Stormont on Friday…no doubt harking back to the good old days when parks and playparks were locked on a Sunday thanks to the save Ulster from sodomy brigade. Getting back on track…Stephen is a big fan of you and your band. We have a great picture of him and Maggie with Declan in the Black Box. He plays and sings a lot of your songs, the current favourite Albert Niland’s Sail on Jimmy. Back to my spot prize – a well-used plectrum or to really push Jimmy’s boat out a signed copy of the lyrics with a dedication to Stephen from you. A really big ask I know but that’s where pondering gets you. Nothing ventured…slán agus beannacht!
Hi Christy, I’m sorry I didn’t know about this guest book last week, I’d have asked for a shout-out at the Waterfront on Friday. It was a fantastic show and it was the first time our kids (8,10,12,14) have seen you live, although they knew loads of the songs. It was their daddy’s 40th birthday present. You even got one of our wedding songs in (Nancy Spain). The 8 year old has a new favourite, Rosalita and Jack Campbell. Anyway, thanks for a great show, we loved it!
