I’m supposed to be attending your concert in Vicar Street tomorrow evening.
Unfortunately, my grandmother who was your biggest fan passed away, and is being buried in Belfast tomorrow. She tried to get on stage with you on one of the many times we went to your concerts in Belfast, you were kind enough to sing her request, The Ballad of Ruby Walsh.
If you can sing her favourite song, Nancy Spain tomorrow night in her memory, Boop if you would – we sang it at her coffin side today at the wake.
Let the music keep your spirits high. Good man Christy
Hey Christy, great gig tonight, míle buíochas, been following you since Ballisodare 1978 , going to Vicar Street again tomorrow and I’d love to hear the beautiful Song of Wandering Aonghus please and its my birthday 😀💜

Location: Rainer from London & Thomas from Berlin - Song Request for 15th January Concert
Hi Christy
Having listened to Thomas intonating your songs since we met at Hull University in 1989 I am looking forward to the real deal.
Thomas was my Best Men when in 1998 I got married to Reiko (from Tokyo).
Unfortunately he needs since last year Dialysis three times a week .
To cheer him up I decided to join him on this Dublin trip as he is such a great friend – always listenting to my worries and stories.
I got a Special Request for you to sing this Tuesday night:
Local, regional and national Gardai refuse to investigate!
Cheers

Hello again Christy,
Thank you, yes, I was looking at Letterkenny, or possibly later in May? Is it possible you might add some dates in the south after those?
All the best,
Kate
Hello Christy,
Will you be coming to Canada in the future? (PEI is a lovely place!) My friend and I are long time fans and will have the good fortune to be in Ireland this year in mid May 2019 but there are no tickets left when we wil be there. Will you be adding any more dates in Ireland? All best wishes,
Kate

I love the geography of it all…German lovebirds flying to Dublin to hear a Tipperary song sung by someone from Kildare accompanied by musicians from Wexford,Tyrone and Galway..
“So drunk as Hell I left that place sometimes walking sometimes crawling
a hungry sound came on the breeze so I gave the walls a good talking.
I heard the sounds of long ago down by the old canal
and the birds were whistling in the trees and the wind was gently laughing”
(from “A pair of Brown Eyes”Shane McGowan/Jem Finer)
Hi Christy,
I wish you a very Happy New Year and all your wishes come true
Almost a year ago now, I met you after your gig in Gorey and signed a photo of you, my wife Patricia and me, I thank you again for giving me this precious moment for me.
So, I’m back in Ireland and next monday i’ll be at Vicar street for your gig with Hilary that you also met at Gorey.
If it’s possible, could you sing for us “Metropolitan Avenue”
Kind regards, David

“Metropolitan Avenue,
standing tall in the Winter rain,
will I ever see your face again”….. ( Noel Brazil )
Dear Christy, I hope you are well. Happy New year to you and your family and The Lads. We spent New Year’s eve in Bristol at a Lankum gig. Blinding night. Absolutely heaving with the jigs and reels. I see that the Vicar Street has gone resoundingly well. Something of the Green eyed monster a lights upon me and I wish I was there. We were able to catch Rob Corcoran in Hackney last night. He has a fabulous turn of the words. His album is cool. There’s another touching song called Black Hearted Man which is very good. So, have a great year. Keep warm and do the pilates. I’ve heard turmeric paste is good for the joints. Rub it or eat it?? I’m going to sign this off Mrs Hayes coz I keep forgetting that’s my name. Xxx
Christy's reply
Thanks Mrs Hayes for Lankum and Rob Corcoran reports…I hear that Rob is soon to play at Nell’s Cafe, also that he has been signed to play at this year’s Liverpool Fleadh (rhymes with Pa)
