Hi Christy, Firstly, A Very Happy Birthday to You, I hope that it was mighty. I had contacted you last year about doing a tribute concert to yourself as a fundraiser for the children of Gaza. I and many musicians, have loved and learned many of your songs and have followed your career for decades. This event would be held at the legendary Plough & Stars Pub, San Francisco and proceeds go to a local and excellent organization, MECA, Middle East Children’s Alliance. I hope that is ok with you. I know of only one shop that stocks ‘Ireland’s Own’ and ‘Ireland’s Eye’..I visited it this morning and am now in a nearby cafe…ready for a good read after dragging you away from Pulp and The Doors as your shelf companions…

Good morning Christy and a Belated Happy Birthday to you! I’m a long term fan and have been to many of your gigs over the past twenty plus years usually in the company of my brother who is an even bigger fan! My daughter Molly (9) is also a huge fan and will be attending her very first Christy Gig with me in August at Wexford Opera House. She asked me yesterday if I knew who’s birthday it was. I said I didn’t. She told me it was yours. She asked if I knew what age you were. I said I didn’t. She proceeded to tell me that I couldn’t be a real Christy Moore fan in that case. I asked her how she knew that it was your Big Birthday and she told me that all real fans would know that ‘from The Song’…!!
Looking forward to our first gig together, and if you happen to think of it some of her favourites are Beeswing and Down the Black and Ember!
