Hello Christy, my husband and I are coming to see you on Saturday at Cambridge. I have seen you many times the last being in Gateshead last October. We were guests of the Durham miners association. (DMA) Davey Hopper the general secretary of DMA who was a huge fan of yours died suddenly last Saturday, a week after the famous Durham Miners Gala. His funeral is this Friday but we will miss it being in Cambridge.
I wonder if you could do a song in remembrance of Davey during your set. Davey was a miner, trade union activist, internationalist and all round extraordinary human being who will be sorely missed across the world.
In solidarity Mary and Paul Foy.

Hello my name is Richard Steele i have become aware of the plight of The Craigavon Two and since the passing of Gerry Conlon who fought hard for the two innocent lads their isnt really a public figure
I know this is a long shot and not asking for money or anything but your voice i know it cost to hear you but im just asking if you could highlight their case even a few words would do wonders
I send you a letter from 1 of their parents
It is very difficult to put into words just how the arrest and subsequent imprisonment of Brendan has affected the both of us. Before this happened we were just a normal family. Our four sons had grown up and left the family home. As with most families we would be in touch at regular intervals and get together for special occasions.
We both have a strong faith and we tried to in-still these values into our boys.
As a family with no previous experience of legal matters, the solicitors took us through the case and the so called evidence against Brendan. Having seen this and spoken with Brendan, we were convinced this was a mistake and he would soon be released.
However, as time went on the case went to trial. We attended everyday of the trial, listening to lie after lie from a witness .. Clearly with something to gain.
By the time all the evidence was heard we were all convinced that Brendan would be found Not guilty. We went to hear the verdict, thinking our nightmare was coming to an end.. Little did we realize, that this was only to be the start.
Since the verdict our lives have totally changed. We sometimes sensed an uffered health issues because of the stress it has caused us.
To sum up, we would say it’s not just Brendan who was given a life sentence, it was us as well.
We go to bed thinking about the case, we wake up thinking about the case and our days are spent trying to get him out. We only hope and pray that we will live to see our son receive Justice.

Hey Christy .
Here I am a Dublin man living in the wilds of West Virginia . I remember around 1974 or so ,I went into a bar and you were playing solo . I spoke to you briefly and I just loved your songs and your delivery of them I’ve been a fan ever since . I play guitar and harmonica and write songs myself .I have to say you were my inspiration . Take care of yourself and maybe I’ll run into you again . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPK9xX1jdo4

Hi Christy! Me and the boyfriend are really looking forward coming to London next week to see you at Nell’s on Thursday! We saw you at Royal Festival Hall two years ago and it was a great concert and we are excited to visit Nell’s since it’s a smaller venue which usually makes a fantastic atmosphere. Any chance that the lovely Black is the color or Gortatagort will be on the repertoire on Thursday?
See you in a few days! 🙂
Christy's reply
always a chance Johanna….the set list will emerge as the gig unfolds…its many years since last singing a club date in London…I’ve no idea what will emerge but both your requests will be at the starting gate….hope you both have a good trip to Blighty
Hello Christy I hope you are keeping the factor 50 slapped on. It’s on fire here by the river. We watched Swell Season last night on DVD which is a documentary of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova at the height of the success of Once. (Very much looking forward to Glen at Cambridge on the Friday night). But really to me it was a very personal (actually too personal) document on the breakdown of the relationship between a musician and his muse. Although I think she wanted to be less of a muse and more of a musician. Anyhoo….there’s one bit when Glen has had a bit of a bad gig and Damo comes in starts saying you need to be angry, to channel that anger, because performing is about anger. Then he says ‘I’m angry, Christy Moore is angry, very angry…’ This was filmed in 2011. If you think it’s true (NOT about you being angry) I just wondered how anger helps in a performance? Or even in life. It made me think of Oblivious. xx
Christy's reply
interesting question…one that deserves further cogitation..might be the starting point for next chat ….I been tearing around The Curragh of Kildare on the old Honda 50 looking Deep Down in The Bog for God Woman….it came to nothing so I am seriously thinking of drawing a line in the sand..
You’re spot on Christy. My father is still shoeing away 50+ years later. Next time you’re driving by Hawkfield you’re welcome to stop in for a cup of tea!

Christy's reply
Lily in Nevada City….hope she settles in…I drove thru Hawkfield yesterday….it was a scorcher of a day….lots of bikinis and factor 50…..you give me very little info so I am assuming that you are from Georgie’s branch of the family…..I was talkin to a man the other day who has just retired after 60 years working with Horses. In the course of the conversation he mentioned that Georgie was rated as one of the top Farriers….
Hi I was looking for a personal contact number or private words to arrange an event with Christy as my father is reaching 50 and Christy means a lot to him and they have met before but it would mean the world if we could get him please respond asap

Christy's reply
scorcher here today..even the sheep on The Curragh were gasping…. we discovered a holy well between Tully and Suncroft…we bathed in the waters and pondered upon Brigid’s time around the Plains of Kildare….Luka and Myself along with our siblings Eilish, Anne, Terry and Wolf….and we met 3 new Sisters along the way…we circled Allen Hill where Fionn once ruled the roost,we made our way to Miltown to sit with our faithfull departed, we sat beneath an oak tree betwixt Hill and Bog, we talked of old neighbours until the bell called us away ( seconds out, third and last round)
