Ireland leading the way for the world today – well done!
Christy's reply
Let us enjoy the fruits of the day…..one debate over…but we still got some way to go before we can rest upon our laurels……fair play to all our citizens who travelled home to vote…we are shamed by the fact that Irish Men and Women cannot cast their votes in Embassies around the world…let us remember
Thanks once again for visiting us at Llandudno. Great concert Even if it was a bit arctic. Looking forward to your next gig. Thanks / Diolch

twas a really good trip, 4 gigs in England and 2 in Wales …and we’ll be in Scotland in a few months…I love these trips across the water….thanks to all of you who came and listened…we were not the only ones who travelled..we had listeners from Switzerland, USA,Germany, France, Italy,Wicklow agus An Ríocht all of whom travelled to the UK for the songs (am I missing out anyone ??) the hall in Llandudno was cold but the audience were hot so it all worked out and I was back here in time for the breakfast (thanks to Irish ferries)
Dia duit a Christy, looking forward to seeing you in ‘come in Dungannon I know your knock! on June 12th. I live and work in Belfast and often use the very handy park and ride service. The bus winds its way down the M1 and passes the Bog Meadows and then as it comes off the M1 it passes a very large piece of public art called RISE…known locally as The balls on the Falls (Falls Road)! RISE is a landmark artwork located at Broadway Roundabout, one of the main gateways to the city. It is the biggest public art sculpture in Belfast. The sculpture’s two globes, cast in white steel, symbolise the rising of the sun and new hope for Belfast’s future. It aims to help revitalise Belfast, bringing a new focus to the area and projecting a vibrant, confident image of the city.
Anyhow, I regretted not having my camera this morning as a large billboard advertising your gigs is situated close by. It was a pleasure seeing your giant smiling giant face through the crisscross network of the Balls on The Falls…weather permitting I will take a photograph this weekend…see you in the Fair Fields. Beir Bua Mary
Christy's reply
agus tú féin freisin a Mháire…I’ve always liked that sculpture…I fantasized that it was a sliotar representing the Antrim Hurlers and them after bringing The McCarthy Cup up The Glens…that would be some sight…
Hi Christy, I did some gardening work for you a few years back. I found you to be a true gentleman and such a nice guy. I have since become a huge fan. Hoping to get to see you next time you’re in Glasgow.
Christy's reply

“The Gardener rises with the Sun,
he knows there ‘s work to be done.
He knows the reason for every Season”

Hi Christy,
Drove up from London to see the gig. (Took in the mountains of North Wales as well.) Reckon your voice and music are stronger than ever! Still smiling and can’t stop thinking about it. I’m on your island in August, so may try to catch you if you’re playing.
Keep on going!!

Hi Christy, Great show at Llandudno and well worth the 250 mile round trip. Nice to see your band is growing in number! I’d never heard Peter Gabriel being referred to before as a “West Country chanter”. Priceless! Dymuniadau gorau. Alun & Ruth
Christy's reply

Hi Christy, you and the gang were on fine form last night, had a very enjoyable night until you mentioned the Rugby,Looking forward to the next gig already.
Christy's reply
I felt it appropriate to mention the Rugby… I feel great kinship between our two countries in The Game…mutual respect and comradeship (apart from the 80 minutes, once a year, when we face each other in Dublin or Cardiff ) I would never say such a thing in any other country…(unless I was in Auckland and we happened to beat the All-Blacks….)
Fine show last night Christy. Look as if you had some fun as well!
Hope you all had a safe journey home and that you’ll come see us in Wales again soon. What about playing Rhosygilwen in Pembrokeshire where Peggy Seeger played last year! Now that would be a gig to see! Even old Grav himself have to come back for that one! Nôs da (good night) to you all and thanks again (Diolch o galon)
Christy's reply
Thanks for your great welcome and also for the Red Dragon…the lad will be here tomorrow to see what came back from Cardiff…. Le chónamh Dé beimís arais an bliain seo chugainn, arais arís leis ár cairde go léir i Cymru….. (with God’s help, we’ll be back again next year with all our friends around Wales)
Absoloutley brilliant in Llandudno last night Christy. Gardners song and my favourite ‘No time for love’ displaying the two sides of the magnificent coin that you are-beauty and anger encapsulated!

Christy, just wanted to thank you for a brilliant show last Wednesday in Basingstoke. My parents were visiting from Sydney (where they live after emigrating 25 years ago). I moved back to London in 2004 and during this trip (for their Grandson’s communion) they were delighted that we could catch your show together.
Afterwards, we were lucky enough to have a few words with you and my father was able to tell you about his “Christy and Declan” tribute show in Sydney. It was a dream come true and he was truly moved to actually meet you after so many years of listening to – and playing – your music.
Thanks again and hope to see you again soon.
David (on behalf of Ted and Audrey)
Christy's reply
when I briefly met your parents I could sense Ted’s connection with song…hope they have a good visit and safe trip back up to NSW

Christy's reply
I sure do love this work that I feel priviledged to do….just like your antecedents, the Gardening men…2 of my great-grandparents were “great-house” gardeners (but some of their employers were absolute tyrants)..thanks for the feed back
Thank you for an incredible night! Tonight has definitely been the highlight of my year so far and will be near impossible to beat! The show was brilliant and thank you for the shout out to my mum she was very happy for it :). I will treasure the memory of meeting you, people say you should “never meet your idols they wont live up to your expectations” but tonight you proved that wrong, meeting you was better than I could ever have imagined thank you so much! xxx
Christy's reply

Hi Christy, just found out I will be seeing you tonight playing in Llandudno and am extremely exited! If you see this in time I would be eternally grateful if you could give my amazing mum Hilary Hargreaves a shout out as she got me one when we saw you play in Rhyl last year and you sang The Voyage for us (which has now become “my song”) so I would like to return the favour! Thank you! Daire Hargreaves
Thanks Christy ,just asked her if you complained about your guitar being out of tune and then saying it was in tune when you bought it in the shop !!
Maybe another night you can use that one again.
Danny
