Hiya Christy. Would you ever consider returning to play here at Paddy Kennedy’s in Puckane, for old times sake? We’d love to have you and it would be a very welcome boost for the village……
Christy's reply
what happens there now? have not played there for nigh on 30 years..last I heard it had been turned into a night club….whats the story madbill?
I’ll tell you what Christy, Liz and I will get you the Teddy Dragon as a thank you. It’ll be on stage when you come on. A Diolch (thank you) for all those years of laughs and tears! I heard the Voyage as a kid and now our kids are 17 and 20! It’s been a long road that we’ve travelled together. My older brother, thanks (Diolch), walk with me a while longer if you will.
Christy's reply
Míle maith agat mo cara..beidh mo mhaicín ag rince leis an Furry Dragon….you’re a hum dinger Aln
Really looking forward to the Cardiff gig. I hope you can dedicate a song to the wonderful BB King, who we sadly lost.
Christy's reply
its a hard one that… we have lost some great players ourselves these past days…none of whom made the 9 0’clock news but we cherished them deeply nevertheless….hoping to live it up in Davey’s Hall tonight
Welcome back to Wales! Very excited about tomorrow night in St David’s Hall.
Me and the wife Sally are off to Dingle soon for our regular fix of Ventry, Fungie and Conor Pass. Last year we met an American couple at Brandon Creek and I tried to explain that without St Brendon America would not have been discovered, however they moved away very quickly! We saw you last at the Marquee last summer, we came across espeacially and stayed at the Imperial as a treat, if you can and don’t mind a cheeky Welsh request could you play St Brendon’s Voyage tomorrow and give my beautiful wife Sally Anne from Newport a mention? We’ll be Heros in her eyes.
Cheers Christy, look after you and yours and come back to Wales soon.
Best wishes David

táimíd an sásta bheith thar nais insan cathair álainn anseo….sometimes our American brethern misunderstand sociability and assume it to be a come on.That said, they mainly respond well to such friendly gestures…..I was in Tourmakeady once and came across a couple from Aberystwyth who were trying to find the Planxty gig…when I offered them a lift they ran for their lives ( the band were in the back )
Teddy Dragons at the ‘Welsh’ shop across the road from the Castle entrance or down at the Millenium Centre Visitor Centre in Cardiff Bay. Hope you’re lucky!
All the best.
Looking forward to Cardiff tomorrow then the trip to beautiful North Wales to see you at Venue Cymru on Sunday. Front row for both nights! As good as it gets! No kids with us this time (Exams) but they both send their love and Annie Mae says thanks for the Plectrum in Cardiff last time 🙂
Fantastic gig at the Millennium Centre Cardiff last time around so really looking ahead to these shows.
If you enjoy Indian Food, try Mint and Mustard for Lunch in Cardiff tomorrow, really good!

hope the exams are going well and that ye are all in a stress free zone….its 53 years since I sat an exam…. I failed, but found another path…..thanks for the tip off on the Rogan Josh….we took one on last night….I’m gonna stick with the leek pie today
Hey Christy!
Saw you at Cambridge Corn Exchange last night, what a fabulous gig! Loved Declan and your band (is Vicky related to Declan?) . Saw your many years ago at The Forum in Kentish Town but last night was amazing, we had seats in the third row, was like you were in our sitting room(welcome any time!)
Christy's reply

Bansa Peelers on tour..we will have Cardiff warmed up for ye
Saw the gig on Wednesday night in Basingstoke. We had already booked to see you at the Liverpool Philharmonic later in the tour but when we saw you were playing Basingstoke we impromptu booked and came along to a lovely venue that seemed to us an unlikely stopping point for Christy. As ever though the concert was fantastic – sing alongs, laughter and tears! We found out during the gig you had played in those parts before and it was lovely how you name checked old friends from the area. Magic night.
Christy's reply
Great to be still in the game Paddy….enjoying it more then ever….these songs were built to last…passed down, passed on, they linger on the air til someone takes them up and moves them on….heard a young Busker last week giving some of them a right good seeing to…on the process goes…..media,radio and tv indifference a positive factor…they can be such destructive forces…..I agree with you Bhoy…it was a magic night…all the elements were in place, not least a roomful of great listeners
Thanks to you all for a fabulous night at the Corn Exchange in Cambridge. Fine songs from rich and varied sources. We must catch you again in the Autumn and this time we’ll bring the tribe! Have a great Summer and best of luck with the remainder of the tour.
Christy's reply
Fair play to you Paul….have not played Sheffield for yonks..must get back there and visit my cousins..used to hang out there a lot…back when both Bramall Lane and Hillsboro were (old )First Division clubs…no diamond-in-the-ear back then…..that said, gigs were a bit different too…..all my production travelled in the guitar case…my wardrobe and belongings too!!!

Christy, great show at the Anvil and my first time seeing you play live . Set list was straight out of the top drawer. Been listening to your music for years. I became a fan of your music which kept me company when I travelled through Australia back in 93′. I really hope to see you very soon in Waterford. All the best

Coming to see you in St David’s Hall on Saturday, would love Sonny’s dream for my Wife Elaine and son Conor. Conor’s first Christy gig, please impress him , leonard Cohen and the handsome family were his first gigs, and he laughed at me for being an old dogie but a personal Christy touch could sway him , he is sixteen and looking forward to your gig.
The January man would be a real treat for me.
Seen you about 40 times now, never put in a request before.
What are the odds Git?
Christy's reply
lets see what we can do ….Old Len and The Hansomes, your bringin him up well….you’ve set the bar high there, we’ll try and leap over
My best mate Greg Ayres introduced me to your music about 10 years ago and I have been hooked ever since. I have been to see you 4 times( i couldn’t guess at the number of times Greg has been to your gigs)and can’t wait to see you again tomorrow in St David’s Hall.

Christy's reply
OK Sean, we’ve arrived in the Capitol and have a day to acclimatise…I gotta find a “Teddy-Dragon” for my grandson…any suggestions ?
Christy, thank you so much for a brilliant gig in Basingstoke last night. Me (jimmy moore), my mum Sadie from Derry, my aunty Angela from Derry and my good mate Kenny from Cavan (all three now live in Dorset) loved the show. We were buzzing on the drive home. My mum and aunty are massive fans of yours and have been for years. It was the first time i had seen you live and love listening to your album ‘Ride On’ on a near daily basis in my car having been brought up on your music. Will definitely come and see you in the near future. Just so gutted you didnt play “Back home is Derry” but what a great evening! 🙂
Christy's reply

Excellent gig last night at The Anvil, Basingstoke. Great set list and once again you nailed it.!! My brother and I had the honour to meet you afterwards and it was great for me to actually show you the tattoo on my wrist (done as a tribute to you). Enjoyed every minute of last night. Oh, and it was me who requested ‘Sweet Thames Flow Softly’. Well played Christy, fair play to ya.!! ……. All the best Dave Mardell
