Hi All…. Anuk you have a memory somewhat akin to a supergrass !!!,, that Mullingar Festival gig was 28th July 2007….. Carobio maybe you’d care to share your thoughts on the sister site which is happily up and running again,,, http://www.4711ers.org,,, there are several areas there from Gigs to Gaggles and from Off Topic but Musical to Off Topic,,,, and finally at the mention of Jackson Browne I think this is one of the best Christmas songs ever (aside from Fairytale !! ) Rebel Jesus,,,,, http://youtu.be/Tr1d0ivyTTk …maybe you know it already Christy ? ? as its nearly December its no harm to mention Christmas songs,,!!! Beir bua agus Beannacht,,,H
Carob reminded me of a response you gave me about the outdoor festival in Mullingar. I was whining like a tart about all the drunken people who weren’t listening. You said we’d all been there and done that. Keeps me humble. My girleens were always respectful at concerts for fear of a good birching. Hahaha! Anyhoo, went to see Jackson Browne the other night. Fountain of Sorrow was fabulous. But his Deluge will never be your Deluge. Anyhoo, glad your hands are well and your chords are still in the head. I learnt f sharp minor on the ukulele the other day. Just for the fun of it. Xx
Christy's reply
that F Sharp Minor will keep the dogs at bay..have not see Jackson live for manys the year…agh yes, a good birching indeed….Folk Festival organisers please note…greetings across the water to Blighty, to all good Linnets and Listeners….
It appears that Britain does not want the truth in Ireland, so here are the titles of the afore posts and you will have to punch these titles in individually. on you tube. If you still can’t watch them thank the Queen .

Christy, I understand you are in a different league than I. And I am very well aware that you do walk the walk, that you actually work for and support the ideologies, beliefs and values that you hold. And I salute you for it.
I cannot hold a candle to what you have done musically, nor socially on acting on your convictions and your beliefs.
I will say though, that I am very aware that this frustration of mine, of the dissing of this performer and my belief that parents are not disciplining their kids – like they used to – is a small order compared to the troubles of our world.
In my defense, I submit these following concerns that I am very aware of:
Last comment, would you want adults in the front row talking while you are playing? Kids are kids, but, one can teach them respect for music and the performer. These kids are talking right over him! Maybe I am too far removed form Ireland to know of the lay of the land and your mind.
Christy's reply
Drunken adults have ruined many more concerts then children running around at open air gigs….I used to be a drunk, I used to be a child…hope you are having a good day….respect for children..the performers and the music will be grand
I hear you. You are a father who has raised kids. I have not. But it’s a bloody performance not a baby sitting! If the kids are screaming during it, couldn’t the parents have taken them away or told them to play over there away from the performance. Perhaps as a bachelor, I don’t have a clue. But, I believe kids can – and should – be loved and can be free and yet still be taught manners. Aha Christy, I am speaking my mind.
Miami to Dublin to Tullamore to see Christy Moore w/ Declan & Jimmy as well. Well worth the 40 hrs of no sleep & all the planes, trains, buses & foot paths to witness a rare, genuine sharing of Spirit & Soul. A special quick chat w/ Declan in the Hotel hallway post performance will add to the treasure chest of Life’s Memories. Your genorousity of soul giving is inspirational. Slan’ !
Christy's reply
some hard travellin there me auld soul surfer, fair play to you for coming..hope you have a good trip..we had some linnets in from Newfoundland too, a pair of songbirds from Germany, come Lilys from London and a bus load a hoors from Boolea..give them all their Dew….safe home
Christy, It bugs me the disrespect these Canadians are giving this Scottish man. This guy is clearly brilliant and these Canadian parents are letting their kids scream and carry on during this wonderful elder man’s sharing. This is not my father’s Canada. I can assure you!
Something is seriously wrong in Canada now. Stephen Harper …. well … is not a good man. But, here is the video that troubled me. I hope this isn’t going on in Ireland. I would think not. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NeBHQNicgg
Christy's reply
Its an outdoor festival in the middle of the day for jasus sake..get a grip..what would you have them do …theres a lot of heavy shit goin down in the world…children playing in the sun at an outdoor festival, sounds good to me

There are 4 lovely pictures of you on the Sunday Independent ‘Life’ magazine today taken by Conor Horgan, under the heading ‘DUBLINERS’. He goes on to say that he is sharing some of ” his favourite pictures of some of the city’s natives, some who made their home there, and some who were just paying a visit.”‘
Christy's reply
The songs re-echoed around Pipers Hill…the auld convent was lit up with listeners from around the globe…Yas came in from Tokyo,Uwe and Petra from Germany,Shinade from Edinburgh, The Goreys from The Hill of Allen, Johnny Doyle from the Yellow Bog, Joe Hickey fresh in from Bangkok, Ed Parkinson flew over from Monasterevan, Adam skidoodled down off The Wicklow Mountains, Lar pararchuted in from The Rock, Tommy tanked it home from The Leb…Hilary raced in from The Kingdom on a Honda 50, The Sap came up The Liffey in a canoe from Clongorey..that was just the front row ….8 Chandeliers..bate that
Hi Christy, I was chatting to my son yesterday about music and he told me that he can’t always listen to some of his favourite tunes/songs as they make him feel ‘funny’. I too have this problem… Some music gives me what I can only describe as a knot in my stomach as it is just too powerful. Some of your songs are a prime example of this.
I just wondered if you ever experience this.
Hope you’re having a great weekend
Gail x
Christy's reply
I know the feeling Gail…I’ve experienced it in the most likely ( and unlikely) situations…there have been moments …sometimes when I am singing…other times when I am listening..life would be less without

Ok, maybe I goofed. Here are some you tube videos that highlight my concern for our world outside of my concern about undisciplined kids.
